I think I'm done with the early stuff in EVE, time to figure out what I want to do already I guess. Three weeks of goofing around trying all kinds of little things. Need to spend more time figuring out the exploration mini-game next though, I've only just gotten started on it. Trying to map out an upgrade path to doing stuff though, I see myself with a couple of Lachesis in the near future I think. At the very least playing around with the different Gallente cruisers.

Really I just need to resign myself to the fact that I'm going to be training a bunch of random skills up to level 5, and it's going to be weeks of waiting for that to happen while having to be strong and not get distracted training up random other things that seem interesting at the moment. Must be strong...

You could join a wormhole corp. There's one that actively recruits inexperienced people and trains them in a sub-corp (in order to avoid them getting scammed, I guess). It always seemed interesting to me. I think they're called wormbros? They have a sub-reddit and either they're linked in the EVE sub-reddit or they they post there every few months. Big negative is I've yet to actually hack any sites successfully. I've spent about 3-4 hours scanning down sites in w-space, and have come across one site that spent some time trying to hack, without success. I've put another couple of points in hacking since then, so I'm hoping that'll make things a little easier. We'll see I guess. People keep saying there's good money in there, so hopefully I'll find some sooner or later. I came across about 3-4 gas sites last night though, and was sorely temped to train up the necessary skills and hop in with my venture and try to grab a little. Other big minus on a wormhole alliance is I need a good amount of "safe time," between wife and kids and such. I can always cloak of course, which is nice, but I'm not really doing much during that time when I'm hiding. Back in high-sec I can at least mine stuff, haul things, or flip items in the stations for fun and profit.

All in all though I'd like to spend more time there, it's a lot more exciting and interesting than anything I'll find in the safer areas. At this point I'm mostly content with making day trips, but we'll see. Trying to balance fun, with "safe" activities, with the eventual need to have the game pay for itself.

On the plus side, wife's new work schedule gives me a couple of hours a week of having the home to myself. Which hasn't happened, since... well... maybe when she moved in like 10 years ago.

I'll drag myself through another season of Katy Perry mash-ups just to experience Jane Lynch bashing the Broadway candyfloss that is Glee club. There needs to be a spin-off once Glee is gone, because Sue Sylvester is my favorite person in the world.

I miss the 80's. I mean, I wasn't old enough back then to appreciate the era, but man, watching some of these 80's movies is just great. They didn't fool around back then. One scene they're mad at each other, because one of them was revealed to be a woman in disguise, the next, the guy walks up to her/him and goes "You look real good in a dress" and they go out. Just like that.

Also, I almost choked on my beer when she/he kissed the guy and everyone at the party just gasped in unison. Even the band stopped playing. Ah, the 80's, where homosexuality was scary.

Man, playing Diablo 3 while participating in a conference chat is much more difficult than when it's a conference call. Constantly having to tab out to see the replies is frustrating. Dammit work! Why you messing with my recreational activities, man?

80s stuff, just everywhere now. It's such an odd decade, I have mixed feelings about 80's nostalgia. 90s I like, 80s had a lot of neon and hair.

Also, Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer, aka. thing that makes spaceships go faster, aka my new favorite rig.
