Those shoes look nice, Aeth. I wish I could wear nice shoes like that, but I'd wear them down in a year. My shoes rarely last more than a few months, and this last pair, which is a pair of custom fit running shoes with thick soles, lasted barely 12 months.
I recently counted steps and found that I walk between 10 and 20 kilometers a day. On a regular work day, I walk just around 13 kilometers. On a slow day, 10 kilometers. On a day like today, where I also had to go to the college to study, I've walked 20 kilometers.
If/when I wear out the soles on these I can just go to a cobbler and get them replaced since they're made in a way to allow for that. Assuming you take good care of them and don't wear them every day, have shoe trees for them on days you're not wearing them so they keep their shape and such they'll last a very long time.
Of course, leather soled shoes aren't meant for walking 13km a day in but other quality shoes also allow for the soles to be replaced which is significantly cheaper than buying new shoes every year.
"The wooden coaster ceased operating in mid-August after 36 years. It was set to be replaced by a hybrid ride called “Twisted Colossus.â€"
"Contractors had been working on disassembly of the ride when the “top of the lift hill†caught fire, the amusement park stated on Twitter.
Heat equipment was being used, an official later stated."
