The filter sucks, but at least it sucks in the most hilarious way possible.

So I went to a nearby beer festival yesterday, it was mostly disappointing because half the brewers they claimed were there were really only represented by a couple kegs rather than anyone actually from the brewery. Add in the rather high price for small glasses and the general lack of beers that aren't readily available and it wasn't much.

Still, I got one great beer-cider mix thing out of it from a tiny cider brewer who mixed his cider with the beer from a nearby craft brewer, the result was magnificent. Unfortunately only 80 liters were made so I'm unlikely to ever drink that again. Still, I got a couple of his ciders and the first one I'm trying is fucking delicious so that was a good thing.

Also, my shoes were shipped so I am now nervously spamming F5 on the tracking page...

They're making me feel very Dutch too as I'm almost as happy about the discount on them as I am about the actual shoes. Smiley: lol

They're comfortable too, just very slippery because leather soles...

You might be able to get taps to help a little with that. Not a ton, but some.

But still, the leather sole means that the shoe can actually last you until you die.

Which they damn well should too for that price. It should get a lot less slippery when they're a little worn as well.

Lol, my boss is pissed at me. Because I have a union pin on my hoodie, because it's a sort of "support" day thing.

You have support days for your unions? Smiley: confused

Those shoes look nice, Aeth. I wish I could wear nice shoes like that, but I'd wear them down in a year. My shoes rarely last more than a few months, and this last pair, which is a pair of custom fit running shoes with thick soles, lasted barely 12 months.

I recently counted steps and found that I walk between 10 and 20 kilometers a day. On a regular work day, I walk just around 13 kilometers. On a slow day, 10 kilometers. On a day like today, where I also had to go to the college to study, I've walked 20 kilometers.

One rifle goes missing in the NYC area and they lock down everything tighter than a five year old Mormon. And then they find the stupid weapon where it was originally meant to be because dumb **** miscounted the first time and insisted they recounted.

Bleh.

Also: Safe.

If/when I wear out the soles on these I can just go to a cobbler and get them replaced since they're made in a way to allow for that. Assuming you take good care of them and don't wear them every day, have shoe trees for them on days you're not wearing them so they keep their shape and such they'll last a very long time.

Of course, leather soled shoes aren't meant for walking 13km a day in but other quality shoes also allow for the soles to be replaced which is significantly cheaper than buying new shoes every year.

"The wooden coaster ceased operating in mid-August after 36 years. It was set to be replaced by a hybrid ride called “Twisted Colossus.”"

"Contractors had been working on disassembly of the ride when the “top of the lift hill” caught fire, the amusement park stated on Twitter. Heat equipment was being used, an official later stated."

It was a contract negotiation day, so it was a (100% empty) way to show support for the union.
