What Xsarus said.

Also, shitty weather in Skyrim actually feels miserable. And I fear that the sneaky archer type character I am building is maybe not a very efficient way of playing the game but whatever.

Go with light armor crafting and it's the most efficient. At the end I was one shotting ancient dragons that got in the way of my catching butterflies.

Sneaky archer types can be a lot of fun. Just don't make the mistake I made in the beginning and completely neglect any kind of melee skills. Something about ending up in a tomb where there's no place to hide and having a bunch of angry skeletons with big axes wanting to hurt you. Smiley: frown

**** that.

Re: working.

Stealth + Archery is definitely the most powerful Skyrim build that doesn't involve the three crafts.

I have a shield+one hander ready for when I can't be bothered to run away/to finish things off.

I am wearing heavy armor at the moment though, mostly because that's what I happened to come across. I guess it's worth it to go with weaker leather armor if I find some?

Once you can craft the better armors your armor value is pretty much capped and the heavy armor isn't as beneficial as it would appear. Though heavy armor means Daedric Armor, which looks awesome.

So far I am just bumbling around a bit, level 8 now or something? Maybe I should look into the whole crafting thing, I'm assuming you can turn hides from animals you shoot into leather?

Useful theory-crafting thread. Smiley: wink

TL;DR = You can cap your armor rating fairly easily using just about any armor.

Heavy vs. Light will be a matter of taste for your character. Heavy armor will be less mobile but stronger for much of the game. You may want to consider using light if you're the sneaky type though, as light armor isn't as noisy. Later it won't really matter as you can cap armor rating, be unencumbered by armor weight, and move silently (illusion magic).

The forum seems to think everything I write is excellent, and I've given up arguing to the contrary. Whatever helps it sleep at night. Smiley: oyvey

Actually had a good holiday weekend with them, so it was a bit of a bummer heading back to work yesterday; but yeah, 90% of the time... Smiley: lol

It's only fair, they made those things a pain in the butt. Surprise dragons have nothing on them. Trolls are a close second though.

Dragons seem a lot more powerful, the one I met just flew into a village and got distracted by whatever guards were around.
