Ahh, why do people put me in charge of math stuffs? School trip went from way under budget to way over budget, apparently, because people don't give me the right numbers to put into math stuffs. And somehow it all falls back on me, because I was in charge of it...

Stupid responsibility. I never asked for this!

As long as you aren't wearing tuxedo shoes, you're really fine. Oxfords are the most formal, but they're also the most basic. So as long as your wearing nice, dark-wash jeans, it works fine (just be sure you aren't wearing black socks).

I'll agree brown are nicer with jeans, though. But black are fine.

Though, the shinier the leather, the less they'll work with jeans.
Oxfords are fairly formal, more so than open laced shoes so they're less likely to go with jeans. Black is more formal than brown which in turn is more formal than other colours/gets less formal the lighter it gets and more broguing = less formal so something like the ones I linked above will work with jeans but a pair like this really won't despite both being oxfords.

All that said, I'm not a fan of the black/blue combination to start with and brown/blue is almost always more pleasing to the eye. Black just doesn't work that well with many colours or situations.

Next time they're in charge give them numbers that are just as accurate. Karma and such. Smiley: wink

Russia didn't consider beer an alcoholic drink until a few years ago, their standards aren't like the rest of the world.

Finland is surprisingly low by the way, Finnish people are known for drinking heavily.

I'm a little picky with my beers, but I do enjoy a good wine. Not a "I have a cellar specifically built for the preservation and optimal enjoyment and hide occasional body" level of wine, but I'm always up for a glass after a meal.

Wine fridges are more practical and cheaper than cellars anyway, although they are of no use for hiding bodies.

We've considered refitting one of the cabinets in the kitchen by taking out the shelves, running some electrical cords and putting one of the small fridges in, but it's one of those home maintenance things at the bottom of the list of things to work on. I'm still trying to get a slide from the roof to the yard area. I've lost the vote for that two yeses to one no. Smiley: frown

It's so cute that your wife lets you and your daughter vote.

A wine fridge is easier to install than a slide though, and you'll probably win the vote on that.

It's important to let them think their opinion counts.

I'm beginning to think it's rigged. I'm going to buy a tricorn hat and throw her green tea into the sink and start a rebellion.

There's a fly in the office. I duct taped a laser sight to a fly swatter.

Murka.

You sure you don't need to call in a SWAT team for that?

I have the exact same certifications and training as them, but I have a Tactical Fly Swatter.

The secret to my success is to let my inner child out once in a while.

Just not too long, because the little bastard would take hairspray and a lighter to the fly.

Yeah, but let's remember that he has access to military grade equipment.

He SAYS hairspray and lighter... but we both know he means flamethrower. I mean, the government SAYS they don't use them anymore, but I'd be shocked if lolgaxe didn't know where to get one within half an hour.

They might have sold those to the police too but there's always tanks and drones to deal with whatever problem may arise.

In 1998 1961* the US military used flamethrowers in Washington DC to clear snow. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few in the hands of the FDNY. I mean, not for snow, we actually now how to deal with snow, but controlled fire to combat wildfire in the forested areas upstate or something.

... I do kind of wonder if I could get training on them, though. I'm gonna have to ask on Tuesday.

* It happened in 1961, the book that wrote about it was in 1998.

Wow... I don't think I have ever had less respect for a politician than I currently have for the Dutch minister of Safety & Justice, he has announced a planned new law that would allow the government to take away the Dutch citizenship of people who have joined terrorist organizations without a conviction or trial. That someone who is supposed to lead the justice department of the government even dares to speak about punishing people without a trial or conviction is beyond absurd to me.

I've heard stupider.

But how would that even work, assuming it's not limited to people with dual citizenship?
