Well, that's just embarrassing.

Also, have you played Divinity? It's a pretty damn good game, if a little frustrating at times.

edit: censoring damn is just too stupid.

I've heard a bunch of good things (and pretty much no bad). I just haven't gotten around to it. I don't think I've played any games for at least two-three days. Smiley: frown

There is one huge bad thing about it depending on your point of view: the game tells you nothing. Like, nothing at all. Got a quest? Solve it yourself, no waypoints no question marks no nothing and you'll have to find the hints yourself from asking people.

Seriously, I found a love letter to a woman from the guy she was cheating on her (murdered) husband with which said their love would be so much easier if only her husband was dead. I take the letter to her and after a short conversation the quest log updates with "she denies that this proves anything".

And that was it, no further clue.

Edit: You also get bonuses for actually role playing, including arguments within your group. You can choose between threatening, charming or reasoning with people to get an answer and you get bonuses or lose points depending on how you act. It's kinda fun if you're roleplaying the 2 characters in your party differently because they'll start arguing with each other.

And then I lost a few hours worth of progress because I accidentally used quick load instead of quick save... Smiley: motz

Also, Borderlands 2 is on sale and has a free weekend, for anyone who still needs convincing to play the game.

That sounds like it's right up my alley. Okay, maybe not the "no help at all" part, but the character building sounds fun.

There's a quest in FFXIV that's the no help sort, and it gives a unique (or something) quest to each player. But the hint is so freaking cryptic that I've pretty much just never made any progress. They send you to talk to an NPC about it, and he's just "lol, that makes no sense. IDK man."

Like.

I figured out that one above, it just takes looking in every nook and cranny for that one item so you can get to the next bit so you can find the next clue etc. It is pretty logical so far you'll just get stumped if you happen to miss something.

It pays to be OCD and check every box, basket and corner of every room.

Years of playing RPGs have made me extremely OCD with games.

And if you miss something... you restart.

It's worth downloading it just to try it, plus the ~$12 for the GotY edition is money well spent if you buy it.

I hate that being an option in games, for that specific reason.

I rebound the quick load button to something much further away than f8 (with f5 as quick save).

Also, I have learned that saving often is needed, getting ambushed by nearly a dozen skeletons is not something you make it out of alive...

The whole trial and error thing does get a little exhausting after a while, especially since what's dead stays dead so I think I may have permanently bodged a quest because I thought I could open the chest behind some people who then attacked me. I think I had to save those people from death by zombies...

Well, killing people before they become zombies is a legitimate method to save them from becoming zombies. I mean, zombification or death is almost always the inevitable conclusion.

You make a good point except that I already cleared out all the zombies in the area and as mentioned above, they don't respawn.

edit: of course, their commander doesn't know that I killed them and not zombies like their friends so I may or may not be able to salvage the quest that way.

I miss watching tv at work. Kung Pow is on IFC. Also, I forgot about going home on Monday. The Speceptionist came in to finish her cleaning duties and was like "What the **** are you doing here?" And I was like "What the **** am I doing here?" and we laughed and then I left because I could and she couldn't yet.

Undead. Being dead but not, and very hungry for hot dogs.

Go for it. Or kill the commander.

I mean and. And kill the commander.

The commander is level ??. given that I have gotten violated by mobs only 2 or 3 levels above mine, I'll pass on that.

Edit: for what it's worth, you could try to kill the commander. And anyone else in town, or have your own party members kill each other.

So wait, zombies can't turn dead people into zombies, only living ones? This whole undead thing is confusing. Smiley: glare

Only necromancers can turn dead people into zombies.

Believing only necromancers is a sure sign you're ill prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse. Has the media taught you nothing? Smiley: oyvey

Return of the Living Dead taught us that the zombies could turn the dead into zombies, as well as the living, with zombie fume rain.

the only logical thing to do is assume everything is a zombie or going to become a zombie soon and act appropriately.

use of fire
