You should probably go do something else so you don't give yourself an aneurism.

Also, have you tried playing Borderlands 2 yet?

edit: oh and games/series/books should never start messing with alternate timelines if that wasn't the plan from the very start, it pretty much never ends up well.

I don't mind alternate timelines as offshoot content. I do mind it when you treat an alternate timeline as a central part of the plot.

For instance, a series of alternate timeline dungeons that are established as alternate timelines that are part of the Bronze Dragonflight attempting to learn more about how the Infinite Dragonflight operates? Fine by me, because the events of the alternate timeline don't matter. They're just trying to learn from it - the time equivalent of running computer simulations.

But traveling to an alternate timeline to bring Cairne back from that timeline to replace the dead one? That's weak. It diminishes the value of the central plot.

And not yet, no. I'll get there, ha.

[EDIT]

And fortunately, I don't care so much anymore. It annoys me, because the Warcraft IP has some awesome assets and the writers just keep making stupid decisions, but I'm so disconnected from the game now that my issue with it is purely from the "Wtf are you doing?" standpoint.

Oh god, according to Bodhi they're not quite retcons because it's an alternate universe.

This is a cinematic that's the past events of "35 years ago" in an alternate timeline. Not like he's causing an alternate timeline by going back in time, he's actually traveling to a completely different time stream. It's not like he changed something and time branched.

That's just awful.

I asked Bodhi to clarify, because I haven't been following the story since it was apparent how bad it would be. I'll also probably stop posting about it here, since there's no point in derailing our boredom when there's a thread in the general forum.

As far as I can tell, and as I commented in that thread, Bodhi's wrong. It's just the standard "Person goes back in time and makes changes, causing a split" kind of thing.

Ah.

Then I am once again annoyed by the retcons.

Maybe it's all Garrosh's delusional dreams?
#6857 Aug 16 2014 at 3:12 PM Rating: Good
He would be the type to have these fantasies, given the whole delusions of grandeur + talking to the dead heart of an Old God thing he had going on.

It's sad that I would actually prefer the last two (three with WoD) expansions to turn out to just be one long dream sequence for Garrosh.

And I'm not kidding. And I HATE dream sequences.

At least it isn't Sins Past.

Which doesn't exist and is a vile rumor and you can't prove it.

Speaking of things that don't exist, I really wish they made an Avatar: The Last Airbender movie. Though, I guess I could see why they didn't, it would conflict name-wise with the movie Avatar.

They should really do that.

Speaking of things that never happened, I actually learned the other day that M. Night actually wasn't to blame for the movie that doesn't exist being so bad. He was overruled on casting decisions, and the script he saw when he agreed to do the movie was later so heavily revised by people who had never seen the original series. And apparently Nintendo was really pressuring everyone to rush, the Producers knew nothing about the series, etc.

Eventually, M. Night just gave up.

I've got BL2 and am up for making a new character or some other action/rpg/shooter kind of thing. I'm not really sure what's out there as far as co-op stuff goes.

edit: oh, I would prefer to play something that looks or can be made to look awesome. Don't have this shiny PC for nothing after all.

My problem with BL2 is that I love it, but I have it for xbox which means I can play it on a 90 inch screen, and don't really want to buy it again anyway.

Why would you buy a shooter for Xbox and not PC if you have a good PC? that's just foolish Smiley: tongue
And as said, I am up for other games, BL2 is just a game I have and know that it's fun in multiplayer.

They removed the glyph that makes Savage Roar passive. First they bumped it from a talent to a glyph, and now the glyph is gone as well. **** developers stomping around on my dreams.

Edit: Since armor will change stats when you switch specs in WoD, it looks like I'm back to Guardian/Resto. Meh, nice change of pace, I suppose. Been a long time since I ran Resto.

because I don't have a 90 inch screen to play with on my computer, because I have a couple friends who already have it for xbox, so I can play with them, and because I always play shooters on consoles, because for me they're fun as party games rather then playing by myself, which is the point of the console.

But playing a shooter with a controller is just kind of awkward compared to mouse and keyboard.

They're bringing back Dream of Cenarius, so it'll go back to being the old "cast a heal to make your DoT more powerful" crap. Can't be bothered with something that retarded, and the new cat form is ridiculous, and Savage Roar still exists. Easier to just go heal/tank. No LFG queues, more loot, less mashing of buttons to compete with others for first place in the deeps race.
