[:envy:]

Weekend sounds great, too many hot days, not enough sleep, making the day long.

Fridays can suck. Smiley: glare

I'd say blah to you, good sir, but we have a bunch of made up holidays too so it's all good.

We could use a couple more. I vote we celebrate all of Canada's holidays too. You know, part of a big happy world thing.

I really want to go see GotG, but there's no way I could sit in a theater seat for 2 hours. And all the nice theaters anywhere around here are definitely sold out this weekend. Smiley: frown

I'd call them and take a handful of pain killers. I enjoyed the ever loving blue eyed thing out of it.

There's a few sets in that general theme coming out. There was a bit of a backlash from the lego "friends" series, which was basically the sets they made specifically for girls. The had all the generic things you'd imagine seeing in a doll house, play world, etc. More or less the question was, why don't they have women characters doing anything outside that stereotypical/traditional female role? Their answer was to put them in a lab, or other similar "professions." Which if you ask me and you didn't, but that's not going to stop me! Smiley: lol is nothing but the stereotypical "non-stereotypical" role most companies go to when they want to appear not to have a gender bias.

I vote they just put more female lego people in with the normal sets. We bought a fire station from their city line, it had like 6 different people come with it, no women. Adding a female lego person or two would cost next to nothing (as compared to making a whole new product line) and would probably send a better signal to the customers. A sizable portion of the problem being not that women have trouble imagining themselves as scientists, but that men have trouble imagining women as scientists. If you don't expose the other half of the population to the same positive role model you're falling short of fixing the problem. Of course, they're here to make money, not provide good social models or anything, but I digress. Smiley: rolleyes

I've got a fan that sucks air into the cabinet, a fan that blows it out again on the other side, and a fan that apparently works as a feet warmer/cooler.Smiley: thumbsup No, seriously, I think that's its primary function, because the air that comes out right now is cooler than the air the other fan blows out, but during the colder days, it's warmer. Makes no sense, but I like it.

As for LED lights, the GFX card has two green ones on it for no apparent reason other than to indicate that power is on, and my PSU has a really cool blue LED light on it that goes well with the blue LED on my keyboard and mouse. There's also some red lights that blink from time to time. I pretend it's HAL trying to communicate with me via Morse code.

Also, holy sh*t, SSDs are tiny! I could stack three of them on top of each other and they'd only take up half the space of the regular HDD I've got mounted. This is cool, but creates a mounting issue, because the smallest drive slot is for FDDs. Need to order a bracket that allows me to mount it there. Edit: Because then I'll have two 500 GB SSDs and a 1 TB HDD. Time for serious downloading of the porns.

U mad bro? Smiley: cool

It is like the guaranteed response to any social responsibility argument though, yes? I probably shouldn't have preempted it in retrospect, could generate insightful discussion, interest, posts, yada yada yada. But sometimes it's nice to keep all that crap in the asylum. Smiley: lol

Yeah, but I had to order more cables, too, because I ran out of SATA cable. Hope I can find some power cables somewhere in there, though.

<3 Chrome synchronization. All my passwords, search history, bookmarks, etc. instantly there. Now I just need to get all my important documents from Drive, and I'm all set. Well, once I re-download 500 GB of game data.

Well, ****, I forgot to backup my UI/addon data for my various games. Haven't customized my SWTOR UI since 2012 or so, so now I'm trying to recreate it via an old UI showoff thread.

On a sidenote Protein, have you noticed a disturbance in the force? What with there being a MtG Pro Tour in Portland there's thousands of extra nerds all congregated in a small space.

Doing TV-series marathons is a bittersweet thing. It's great while it lasts, but once you hit the series finale, it's so sad.

What were you watching?

And I've found that I can't marathon a show anymore, no matter how into it I am I want to do something else after an hour or so.
