Hooooly sh*t, Blizzard went full ******.

This is the dumbest sh*t I've ever seen, and this replaced passive Savage Roar (which now costs a glyph that also reduces damage). Good lord, I thought the development team was on the right track with the WoD patch notes, but this just bundles up all the previous positives and sh*ts all over them. Additionally, they're removing Rake and Rip from Cat Form for Guardian Druids. That makes Cat Form useful for one single thing as a Guardian Druid: stealth.

Good times. Can I get a refund on my preorder?

The classes aren't even close to a quarter finished. Wait until maybe late beta to start complaining.

Is that how beta testing works? Hold your tongue until there's no going back and then complain about things that can no longer be changed?

Release will be around Christmas?

Also, looks aren't so likely to change and a cat with giant muscular human arms looks utterly retarded.

They animated and modeled them, and they confirmed via Twitter that armor would not be shown on the model, so I'm guessing the Claws of Shirley is there to stay.

Edit: Ahah...hah... you've got to be kidding me.

Travel Form now automatically transitions between Aquatic, Land, and Flight forms depending on the Druid’s location.

That actually seems kind of neat, although I'm not sure how they'd handle transitions between land/water and air.

Remember when people would be selected and paid to find flaws that programmers and developers might miss through extensive testing? Now people pay to play games in their alpha and beta builds or "early access."

Unrelated but interesting bit of Dutch news, ***** around rivers will be strengthened in the coming decades because due to growth of population and climate change the current standard of being able to withstand high waters/storms that happen on average once every 1250 years will be insufficient and the ***** will need to be able to withstand storms/high waters occurring once every 4-5000 years.

Because there's no kill like overkill.

I suppose the question is, are they building them to handle storms that happen every 4-5000 years in the new climate? Or are they expecting storms that happened every 4-5000 year to happen once every 1250 years, and they're just trying to keep up?

I think it's that even if climate change goes mad we'll still have at the very least a couple hundred years to improve upon what we have now.

Well kudos to you guys then, we're lucky if we can get people to plan for an 100 year flood over here. Smiley: rolleyes

I think we've had this conversation before but yeah, hundreds of years of struggling with water has ingrained the long term planning for water in our DNA or something. It's also that we have nowhere else to go, you guys could lose 100 miles off of either coast and given enough time it wouldn't really be that big a deal.

Eh, it would suck for NYC but it's not like you'll be left without a place to go if you had to move 100 miles to the west, if I had to move 50 miles to the east I'm in Germany.

That said, it's a whole lot more likely that New York will be destroyed by water than any place in the Netherlands.

I know I can move a hundred miles west. I'd rather go down with the ship, though.

What if they build a replica of NYC along the new coastline? Or a floating version of NYC.

We wouldn't even need to go that far. There's so little "flat" land around here most people wouldn't have to go more than a mile or two, even if the oceans rose 10m. Smiley: rolleyes

The technology to create flying cities isn't here yet. We've just barely gotten self-tying shoes. Smiley: frown

I know. But I'm still disappointed in our lack of awesome Old Age Future Tech.

Not at all. Voice your concerns, but I'm just saying it's early to start threatening to refund your preorder.

Normally, I'd agree with you. But I don't trust Blizzard's beta skills anymore. Cataclysm ruined that for me.

I'm sure that's at least slightly unfair, but Cataclysm was a really, really good example of a poor beta test, so it's hard for the emotional part of my brain to listen to the rational side here.

Also, if anyone is ever thinking of having surgery on their abdomen while awake, know that it's REALLY WEIRD.
