Makes you wonder why people thought a 30+ year old cancer survivor could win it without doping.
~27-34 is the best age for the Tour De France though, you usually see younger riders get pulled out of course halfway through since they don't have the endurance to go on for 3 weeks. Contador is 31, Froome is 29, Nibali is 29, Valverde is 34, Richie Porte is 28 and those are the guys who had/have to do it for the overall win this year. As for the doping, the scale of doping in the tour was so insane around that time (I wouldn't be surprised if the number of doping users was over 90%) that nobody could have won it without doping.

Either way that's some impressive stuff. Though I think the most impressive thing is riding that close to tons of other people who are going that fast without the fear of being mangled in a wreck causing you to quit.
Because cyclists are insane, you have to be insane to dare to go down mountains at breakneck speeds (60+ mph sometimes) with not uncommonly a sheer cliff on one side of the road. And none of them seem to think twice about continuing even after a brutal fall, Froome broke his wrist this year, Contador broke his shin, another guy broke his nose and someone else broke his shoulderblade and all of them are going to be competing next year if they get the chance.
