So my dog just got put down, she was 14.5 and in poor health, didn't hear or see much anymore and she could barely get up. Plus I haven't lived at my dad's place in years so it's not like I saw her more than a few times a year but it's still a weird feeling.

Conference update: I'm going to kill my boss someone.

17 hour work days can **** right off. I'm guessing today's 15 hours will be equally bad, given the limited sleep...

As long as it isn't the boss that signs the checks, I say go for it. Before you do, I suggest you find a good place to bury the body, in pieces and in various places around the state don't do it because that's bad.

I'm off to camp at a folk festival all week, keep everything under control while I'm gone.

You're doing well, hang in there and in a couple of years you can be the one passing along the abuse. Smiley: wink

Not much in the way of news really, I knew her health was deteriorating quickly and yesterday she fell down outside and couldn't get up on her own anymore so she laid in the rain for an hour or more (the door is usually open so she can wander around inside and outside), that's when my dad decided that it would be cruel not to put her down.

She was able to wander outside freely and half the elementary school went past our house 4 times a day (lunch at home) so she got petted by everyone and every kid in the village knew her and one kid always walked sideways past our house with his back against the wall of the houses on the opposite side of the street, that was always hilarious considering that I've only seen her growl at a person once in her life.

The dog was like Lassie but half the size and a lot dumber, very hard to be frightened by.

I'm not really sad about it, bummed that she won't be there anymore when I visit my dad but with how poor her health was it would've been cruel not to put her down and I've got two cats to console me as well (by ignoring me and covering all of my house in muddy footprints Smiley: glare)

How are you doing anyway? Things going better? (Minus the 17 hour days of course).

Things that are fuzzy will do that, for better or for worse. The guinea pig stays locked in his cage a lot, there's times I'm fond of him for that reason.

Kitty isn't quite fluffy enough to be autocute like some animals, but dumb enough to bypass that particular hurdle. He'll knock over a table by accident, and after a brief scolding get so freaked out by his misbehavior that he'll crawl into someone's lap and hide his face in the seat's cushion for like ten minutes. This is a 90lbs dog. I blame my daughter.

So how often do you have to explain why you're calling your giant dog Kitty?

Not often. "You know that's a dog, right?" never gets old, either.

Smiley: mad
