Unfortunately I don't know if you're going to find much. My understanding is that the Shadow Priest isn't in the greatest position right now in PvP, meaning there's not as many people writing guides, etc. to it.

Hopefully you'll find something though. Smiley: smile

There is a guide on the battle.net forums: Shadow Priest PVP, but it is a bit old. Was last updated in March. I don't know if anything has changed or not though. Probably wouldn't hurt to go to the priest forums there and ask.

Although, from what I've heard protein is right about shadow and pvp. Most priests are going to go disc.

Honestly, Shadow hasn't really been in a good PvP position since BC, when Warlock/Shadow Priest was pretty fun.

I don't think he PvPs as Shadow because he thinks it is a good spec for PvP but rather because he likes to play as a shadow. :)

I can't blame him for that, as my main is a shadow priest. Shadow is a lot of fun, but it just isn't very strong in pvp. The only DoT we have that does a significant amount of initial damage is DP, and it costs quite a bit of mana and we can only have it on one target at a time. Mind Spike does a pitiful amount of damage really (at least by itself) and Mind Blast has an 8 second CD which makes spamming it kind of hard.

Disc has shields, atonement, and with Holy Fire and Smite they can put out a decent amount of damage. I leveled as Disc until the 50's, and it's a lot of fun too. Tell him he should try it. If he doesn't like it, fine but he should at least give it a shot.

That said, they do bring some things to the table. Namely, Silence, Psychic Horror, Sin and Punishment (dispel lashback on VT) and a reduced cooldown Psychic Scream. A shadowpriest with a lot of resilience can be difficult to kill, between Shadowform and other damage reductions, and our multi-target damage is not too shabby.

The issue is, other specs are simply better in PvP. We're not the worst thing out there at the moment, but we're certainly not the best.
