Need help finding hunter talentFollow

Hi,

Figured the Zammers could help me with this one as I don't seem to be able to find the answer anywhere (my google-fu is weak).

My daughter has a hunter, I've helped her level along the way, but I don't really play it (well), and know little about the intricacies of the class. Yesterday, she dinged 80. I ported to IF to get her last training points. She is Beast Mastery.

At the trainer, I saw Mend Pet (Rank 10) was red, untrainable. It says requires rank 9. I looked at her talents, She has rank 8. Rank 9 is not available at the trainer.

My question: Is this learned from a quest chain somewhere? A tome that drops or is purchased? I can't seem to figure out how to get her rank 9 so she can train rank 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only answer I can think of is that the character doesn't have the gold required to train it.
Although I'm not sure if that turns the text red. Otherwise check again and/or contact a GM.

Ok, thank you Aethien. Definitely isn't a gold issue. Must be a glitch. I just wanted to check here first to make sure it wasn't some hunter-specific thing I didn't know about (like quest or book). After reading a few of your hunter posts, I'm thinking of re-speccing her MM anyways, maybe untraining the talents will make it show up again.

Yeah, MM is the way to go. the easiest rotation and the best dps.

I don't think hunters have a questline for anything except for tame pet and all that jazz

There was a vanilla WoW quest line for making that epic bow

No, no quest required. I was away last week, so just got home to see the response from the GM. Turns out ... I'm a moron.

In the training window, where everything was red, there is a "filters" option at the top. Somehow, my kid had the "Show unavailable" filter selected. As soon as I selected "Show Available", they were all there (about 10 levels worth)

Thanks again, for the replies and help.

There was a hunter quest in Azshara for two trinkets, and maybe a polearm iirc, and then the quest for Rhok.

If your daughter just hit 80 I'd suggest she goes with survival at first. When first starting out, SV is one of the better specs. At higher gear levels, MM is king.

On the subject of Mend Pet. It may just be a bug that has to be brought to the attention of a GM.

survival is good, i personally like beast mastery but it's really up to you and your own personal style.
