Combat Fists...Follow

My Rogue and I have a love / hate relationship going. I have been Mutilate since hitting 80, and have semi- enjoyed the experience. I love my Rogue, and hate him for being kind of odd man out.

I recently switched to Combat for the change of pace. I have been using Nightime ( drop from H FoS ) mainhand, and a crappy sword or dagger off-hand. I realize this is not optimal. I just acquired a fist weapon drop from H FoS off of a trash mob, and am wondering if Fist / Daggers is worth rearranging my talents for. Any and all comments/ suggestions welcome.

PvE Combat, fast and flawed advice
Mainhand a sword/axe, fist or mace weapon of generally slow speed.
Offhand a sword/axe, dagger or fist weapon of generally fast speed.
Mainhand Instant Poison, Offhand Deadly Poison.

Combat Spreadsheet

If the fist is fast, use it. If not, sell it (or MH it--I didn't look up stats of your weapons).

If you decide to use it, use the spreadsheet or Rawr to see what talents would be best.

Simple.

Choose your weapon specialisation to fit the best weapons you have, but make sure that both weapons fit that spec. You shouldn't be using Nighttime with an OH dagger, because axes benefit from Hack and Slash, while daggers benefit from Close Quarters.

Close Quarters and Hack and Slash are pretty close, given equivalent weapons. Assuming your fist drop was Seven-Fingered Claws, it's on a par with Nighttime, so the deciding factor is likely to be the off-hand weapons you have available.

If you have an axe/sword that's clearly a lot better (fast, high DPS) then go Hack and Slash with Nighttime. If you've a better dagger/fist OH, go Close Quarters. If it's a close call, or you aren't sure how a really fast dagger compares to a slightly slower axe/sword, then yep, it's spreadsheet time!

Thanks, I think you answered my question. The Fist weapon was the Seven Fingered Claw, and I got lucky a day later with the trash drop Ice razor something dagger. I was mostly curious if hack -n-slash was superior to close quarters.

After some dummy testing, I have opted to go with the Fist/Dagger combo. It seems to eek out a few more DPS, and, honestly, I like the looks.
