I was told specs that bliz is pushing for us to be able to break away from the cookie cutter in expansion and play style will be more excepted... I highly doubt this to be true honestly =P

But I would enjoy seeing some interesting pvp specs for shaman with better survivability, you think at the very least this would be possible?

sac'ing some utility talents and abilities and dps you could be a dw shaman with es or a pew pew shaman with es? think it could work for pvp at the very least? they adding some kool survival talents to resto that look fun

You really need deep Ele talents to make it good. I think Lava Surge is going to be a total game breaker...some procs off of that and you're rolling some really high burst. Also Astral Shift, Lava Flows, etc.

I didn't bother doing specs yet for Cata because it's probably all gonna change anyway, or half of it.

I was playing around with the live Shaman one a little while ago though, and had an idea. (Probably a bad one.)

http://www.wowhead.com/talent#hZMGTIoVzIM0oMZVcfuchsxk:jmi It's built on the idea like Shockadin, where you melee to get mana back. Water Shield will proc more as you'll be in melee range, likely getting hit by AoE or somesuch, but the main idea is that you use Stormstrike often to regain mana.
