Calculating damage reductionFollow

So I got all these damage reduction talents, etc. and I'm struggling a bit to find how they interact.

First I have my base armor + demon armor, which combine in a pretty straight forward way. Then I also have soul link + the glyph, again no problems. Finally I have the points in molten skin. So in the end, that's a 33% damage reduction from armor w/DA, and 25% reduction from Soul Link, and 6% from Molten Skin. So here's my question. If I get hit for 1,000, how much damage do I take?

1) 1000 - 333 (armor) - 250 (SL) - 60 (MS) = 357

2) 1000 * 0.67 (armor) * 0.75 (SL) * 0.94 (MS) = 472.4

3) some other way perhaps?

Any insight would be appreciated! Smiley: grin

This is the correct way. Don't forget to account for things like Sanctuary/Vigilance/Discpriesthing (-3% dmg), and Inspiration (-10% physical damage) if you're in a raid fight. Elemental damage reduction obviously won't be affected by armor or Inspiration.

The answer, naturally, is 1,000. If you get hit for 1,000, you take 1,000 damage. Smiley: schooled
