Hi I just hit 80 with my priest and despite trying to find info I can't seem to find the info I am looking for. I wont be doing any raid healing with this toon, just heroics, I am trying to figure out a good spec for 5 man runs. My main is a resto druid, healing on a priest is so different. Healing regular ToC was very difficult. I guess I'm looking for any tips you all would have on healing and with a good spec. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure it's in the sticky, but in case it's not Moz needs to add it.

57/14/0 cookie cutter disc healing spec is pretty much ideal for heroics.

I agree. Remember, as disc, shields are your friend. Make sure your raid frames show you your shields, as well as the weakened soul debuf. Also show magic and disease, since dispelling magic and abolishing disease are also important.

The cookie cutter has all you need. Don't forget your glyphs. I moved a couple points around based on my playstyle (I do more dispelling than flash healing). I like to think we can still take a point or two and play a bit, so long as we have the basics covered.

I agree that Disc is great. Shield anyone who might take damage, PoM the tank before he pulls and shield him as soon as PoM bounces off him. Keep him shielded always. Penance for your tank/big heal. Renew/Flash Heal for spot healing, Prayer of Healing for your group heal. Your whole spec is built around Shield and mitigation, so Shield should always be your first line of defense.

You can also use Holy to heal heroics if you prefer more reactive healing. I'd do something like this with the last two points in Healing Prayers, Test of Faith, or Body and Soul according to your preference. I'd suggest Flash Heal and Dispel glyphs and a third of your choice. Keep three stacks of Serendipity on the tank all the time. PoM rolling always. GHeal is your big heal. Renew is nice for keeping DPS topped off and/or warlocks. Circle of Healing is great and Circle of Healing followed by Prayer of Healing can bring the whole group back from the brink of death. And just because you're Holy doesn't mean you should forget about Shield entirely. Smiley: smile

Thanks for the replies, the Disc build I have is from the priest thread here that is stickied. I did read it before posting. I just don't remember it being this hard on my druid when, but it probably was. I know as I get better gear it will improve.

I leveled as Disc from 70 to 80, with an occasional stint as shadow dps by dualspec. I felt the transition from normals to heroics when dinging 80 was flawless. My advantage was of course that I knew the disc healing style pretty good already through levling, and I had a few epics waitong for me. (100 EoT from normals gave me 2pc T9 bonus from the get go). In addition I had some epics crafted for him. (1-hand, gloves and cloak).

On the flip side, my resto druid became resto long after turning 80. I found him much harder to start healing with, not knowing the playstyle beforehand.

It all changes with your familiarity with style/mechanics and quality of gear. I think Blizzard has succeeded in making all the healers viable.

As far as help goes, the people above have all given sound advise.
