Decided to change a profession in cataFollow

#1 May 14 2010 at 9:08 AM Rating: Decent
When I leveled to 80 I was double gatherer. I dropped one to get inscription, then later dropped my other gathering profession for enchanting. I've really enjoyed having enchanting, having a ton of mats in my bank, but I rarely, if ever, use inscription. Sure I use the shoulder enchant, but I was exalted with sons of hodir before I even started inscription, and I've never made any money off selling stuff on the AH (selling the herbs is WAY more money).

I know the best in slot are blacksmithing and JC, but my paladin is my JC and I don't really want to have a second. What might make a good second profession to enchanting?

... blacksmithing?

Sorry if I come off like an ***, but it seems to me like you answered your own question? =P

You have two plate wearing toons, presumably a miner, plus you can make both armor (dust) AND weapons (essences), so yeah, blacksmith.

Wait to decide until more info is released about what the self benefits will be in Cata. Just in case Inscription becomes better.

Heck if you learn new glyphs fast enough it will be a huge money maker early on in Cata. As everyone will be all, OMG new glyphs, must buy them, nom nom, here's all my gold.

yeah that'd be decent over the short-term within the first couple months of cata, but ever since they released the dual-spec system, people don't buy glyphs as much as they used to. Once everyone gets their specs and glyphs set for raiding/pvping again the demand will drop off significantly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the raw mats were worth more again.

I like the BS idea, as long as I've played this game I've actually never had a max level BS before.

I use glyphs like pots though. Change by fight as needed.

But ya mats are pricier these days. Still I'd wait for more solid Cats prof info to switch, especially this late in the xpac.

As maybe you would want chanting over BS come Cata as an example.
