Ya.

My raiding time is going downhill for a while with the 2nd job starting, so I needed a solo side project. So I got me a warlock I'm going to try and PvP with. Fun thing is I've never PvP'd on the warlock before, used to do some on a hunter (it's another pet class right? Smiley: wink) but that was in BC, so I'm sure I'm going to be rusty.

Anyway I grabbed a spec off of wowhead, and moved a couple of points around; hopefully will make soloing a bit easier too. I ended up with something like this, of course I'm only about this far right now. Smiley: lol

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had some PvP hints and tips, warlock style. I plan to start PvPing in a level or two, and will probably mix BGs and Soloing while I level. So what classes are a pain for you? Which ones do you totally own? Need to have an itchy "fear" finger? Importance of keeping the pet alive? Anything insight would be appreciated.

P.S. Engineering and a Warlock is an evil combination if you like having free bag space... Smiley: frown

Rogues are the anti-lock regardless. I can't say much else since I gave up on warlock PvP since mid-BC when we were useless except for SL/SL survival.

Being out of the game for a while, I think this works very well for some solo and major PVP. If you PVP, you want to be all about surviability, and this is what I came up with
here

You want your DoT's to be your primary damage dealers since you'll do more damage and have more kills around the field if you DoT everyone, as opposed to DDing every one. Having more points into Demonology gives you Spell bonus as well so that's good to have. Demonic Knowledge is a must for PvP, IMO, and and empowerment will aid you if depending on what pet you use. I always went with Imp to mana tap from, as I do in raid/heroics.

Hey there, your spec atm (demo) ,great for lvling and bgs.I prefer aff ,but demo is also great.
Other spec you linked (destro pvp),lose 2 points in Demonic Power, get 3/3 backdraft, imp hs is good, but since succy dies so fast it wont rly make a difference,I'd take imp hs over it in that spec.

Some basic pvp tips ; keep range, dot, fear, find some los object and abuse it,thats it basicly =)

Rogues are anticlass ofc ,but you'll ALWAYS lose to good frost mage and DK.No matter how skilled or geared you are if they are on same lvl of gear/skill as you ,they'll always win.

Eng is best pvp prof and lock+eng make one nasty combo.

This is my lock, one is aff pvp ,other is destro pvp (i play w/o succy)spec. Gemming is for affliction.

Sweet all, thanks for the advice. I'll have to move those points from demonic power if the succy isn't going to live long anyway, and of course if I start playing w/o her at the higher levels.

Ya from what I had gathered destruction was more about spike damage and affliction was more DoT and drain, while demonology seemed to be more about establishing early dominance with Metamorphesis, or something... Still putting points in demonology atm though. I can't wait to get that demon cast-time reduced!

I've been playing around a little. I've gotta say my favorite part is running into a group of 3 people, seducing one, fearing another and dotting up the 3rd. Smiley: lol It's nice having such a variety of crowd control options. I feel like I'm just delaying and holding a node until help can arrive sometimes though. Doesn't feel like I'm a massive damage dealer as much as a CC king. I killed my first rogue after he tried to stealth away with my dots ticking on him. So much fun! Smiley: grin

Engineering has been a blast. Smiley: rolleyes I'm loving the explosive sheep, and the AoE stun bombs have already helped me out of a few tight places.
