DL vs DSFollow

I just got done pouring over the elitist jerks page and it had some great info.

My question is they don't say to use DL in your rotation at all. It's all DS. Is DL less dps? and if so, what do you do with all those shards?

Just read the tooltip about the spell. As you can see, it becomes 4 times as effective when the target's health is below 25%, which is where you introduce it into your rotation.

As for the shards, if you are raiding there is always a need for them: soul wells, soulstones, summon demon (other than imp), etc.

Get the 32 slot soul bag. 32 is all you can carry so the rest are automatically destroyed.

Reason why Drain Soul is used is because as a lock, when you're DPSing usually you're at your best in a group where you have a healer, and a tank. The healer will keep your health up so life taping, *there's a spec that utilizes this with the proper inscription* you don't need to throw Drain Life in the mix. And as stated, you get a bonus when the target is below a certain percentage.

I only use Drain Life when I PvP because I don't have a healer on me, and I'll take anything I can get. Yeah I can Siphon Life everyone around me, but why not throw in an extra +health.
