Profession choice for a Restro/enh shammy?Follow

Skinning never tickled my fancy. It doesn't seem to make nearly as much as the other gathering professions. Also, if you want to farm for skins, you have to kill, loot and then skin. That just seems more tedious than it's worth. Eng can be useful. You get all kinds of fun little things to play with while you level. Some of them go beyond just joke items. For example at around lvl 40ish there is a bomb you can make that is a 3sec aoe stun. That saved me a few times. :)

Engineering is fun and useful nowadays (and debatably more useful than JC when encounters involve a lot of movement, or when you REALLY like haste). But I would NOT advise taking it with Skinning, as it can get very, very expensive. And I can't say I know of any way to make money from it.

Of course, if your Shaman will be the same server and faction as your miner, this isn't necessarily an issue. But Copper Bar stacks, for instance, on my server go for 10G a pop. So keep that in mind if you don't plan to farm your mats on the Shammy or your other toon.
