I just came back after about a 7-8 month break and downloaded a few addons. Specifically, X-Perl, ICEHud, Quartz, and Acherus Runes. I was using these before I left so I am comfortable with them and I like them. Been using Quartz and X-Perl for several years actually.

The problem is that Quartz seems to have changed the way they track the GCD. Before you could specify a spell/ability and a backup spell/ability to track the GCD. Now it just seems to track the ability you just used. Whenever I use an ability that can't be cast again due to not having an available rune, I don't get the GCD spark, same if I cast DC but don't have enough RP to cast DC again. I turned off the GCD tracker in quartz and used the one in ICEHud but I have the same problem. Anyone know a light GCD tracker that doesn't have this problem? My Rogue and Warlock don't have this problem, just the DK. What makes it an issue is the way I have my UI setup. Everything I need to know in the middle of a fight is in roughly a 4 x 8 section in the middle of my screen, so having to glance over at the tiny hot bars tucked away in the corner of my screen (24" 1920 x 1200 actually has a lot of space) it throws my timing off by more than a little. Anyone know a way to fix this?

Also, Acherus hasn't been updated in nearly a year and is causing problems with the X-Perl player frame. Anyone know of a good rune tracker that uses a similar cool down bar similar to Acherus? Tried MagicRunes and didn't like it. I have tried dropping X-Perl for Pitbull multiple times but it just has too many customization options and I just can't force myself to like it. If it becomes my only option I may have to force myself to try it again but I think I might go back to the stock unit frames before I go back to Pitbull.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm confused; you don't invoke the GCD for spells that you can't cast from lack of resources...what exactly is the problem?

As for unit frame problems, try shadowed unit frames, it's more friendly to configure than pitbull and has the ability to add/remove certain elements from the frame if you'd rather use another addon for them (ala Acherus).

Yea I had a feeling that was a bit confusing.

Ok, typical startup:

IT, PS, HS, HS, DS, DC. After IT, PS, and HS I get the GCD spark, after the second HS I don't get the spark because HS uses a blood rune and I don't have any left, so I have to look over to my hot bars to time the casting of DS. The spark doesn't show after I cast DS either since I don't have a frost and unholy run available to cast it again, so I again have to look over to my hot bars to see when I can cast DC. After that it's hit or miss as to whether or not I get a GCD spark due to timing, which messes up my timing because I'll use an ability then expect a spark and not get it.

I'm only talking about .5 - 1 second worth of timing here but that's a lot to me. When I run without using the proxy I run at about 350ms, when I use the proxy I run at about 150 and tend to cast too early because I'm used to adjusting everything to compensate for the higher latency.

Whatever is delaying you, it's not the GCD. When you hit that HS again and it doesn't go off because you have no runes, nothing happens. Quartz tracks the GCD completely independent of anything, and you aren't seeing the spark because there isn't one happening.

I can't really be more help even from your second description. There's no reason you shouldn't immediately be able to move to DS.

The only time I run into button problems is when I fail to notice that an ability missed/parried/etc and the rune was refunded; it throws off my rune sync somewhere along the line and I end up trying to push a button that isn't available yet.

Edit: Looking again, I think I see now; so you're saying when you use an ability that expends the last available of the runes that ability uses you don't see the GCD pop? If so, I'll have to have another look at my screen, I'm pretty sure I don't have that problem but I want to get eyes on it and be certain.

I've never used rune watchers or a GCD tracker, I just know my rotation and watch the hotbar and never had any issues with DPS or rotation or timing. I mean I've been playing this game forever so I just feel the GCD now. Anyone else like this?

I'm the same way Katchii, to the point that with my DK I end up ******** up my rotation if I get a miss/parry/dodge and have the rune refunded; I don't notice it at first and just go right through to the next bit of the rotation's timing, or notice it and end up tripping over myself from the 'new' timing when I get the ability back.
