have you read the stickies above? We don't prefer to give cookie cutter leveling specs as there are various options. If you want to put one together at wowhead and post the link here we would be happy to go over things you got right/wrong though.

The choices really aren't that hard; if you use frostbolt a lot, grab improved frost bolt. If you're cool on slows thanks to frostbolt being your main nuke, go for damage and grab Ice Shards. Then grab Precision to make misses less common. Etc. If you can carefully weigh your choices and pick what seems better to you, you will have a spec A) made precisely to fit your playstyle and B) of which you know all your talent choices inside out. And you will end up being a better player than if you copied a random build.

Without trying to be an *******, you shouldn't use forums to find out basic information that is a requirement to playing your class effectively in the first place. If you're not completely uncertain about what to do (and you followed the in-game tutorials), then do your own research and save conversation for the choices that aren't completely obvious ("Is Cold as Ice worth grabbing before I get Ice Barrier or Water Elemental?").

That spec is for end game, as Anobix said it would be best for you to have a play round in wowhead and come up with a spec and send it for people to look at or send us what you have at the moment. I am levelling another mage and my spec looks crazy at the moment but it works for me and will change once I get to 80.

I didn't have a levelling spec in there? Odd. Either way, just throw points in what will help you level. You want damage and survivability.

Her, huh? Well, I do have boobs, if that helps.

I am puzzled as to why that linked talent tree had both Enduring Winter and the glyph of Eternal Water ?

Is the 1% mana regen really worth the 3 points ? as to me it seems pretty poor compared to the extra damage that can be got from the arcane talents like Spell Impact or the Arcane Meditation as others in the group will no doubt give better mana regen ?.

Now that brain freeze uses FFB, Spell Impact is next to useless for a frost mage.
As for Arcane Meditation, the day I have mana issues on any fight is the day I'll change it. Frost isn't like Arcane, sucking mana dry. I'm yet to have to evocate in a 25 man fight :)

I put one point in Enduring Winter, you are casting Frostbolt about 6 times in 15 seconds while levelling, a 33% proc chance is more than enough.

For levelling I would say take the points out of Ice Floes and put them into Frostbite, stopping mobs from reaching you is alot easier with an increased chance to freeze them. And it will work well with Improved Blizzard and Shatter for great AoE damage.

I agree that for leveling purposes Frostbite is terribly useful. And satisfying as well.

It brings a tear of joy to the eye to watch a melee opponent writhe around while his feet are frozen to the ground 20-30 yards distant. Often he or she won't get much closer before being transported from this life.

It's a good thing.
