Moving DPS (Enhance vs Elemental)Follow

I normally don't put much research into a class until I get it to level 75 but I was talking to my guild leader about this. I am leveling a shaman as enhancement/restoration. He was telling me we were looking for an elemental/restoration shaman for ICC because the last couple bosses require you to be able to move and do dps which elemental does better than enhancement, or so he told me; because generally melee classes have a harder time doing damage on moving fights. However, I have 3 level 80 tanks and two level 80 range dps. I don't find it particularly hard to keep up my optimal dps on my death knight on moving fights.

My shaman is level 72 and is enhancement main spec and restoration off spec. I haven't touched elemental since level 35 (A LONG TIME AGO!!). From my understanding, Blizzard made it to where both Elemental and Enhancement were really viable DPS specs and you could pick either and do great dps and all 3 specs were helpful for a raid. If anyone is knowledgeable about both sides I would greatly appreciate it if you could lay out the pros and cons of each spec in a brief overview. I read the stickies on this forum but I still don't see why that pushes elemental past enhancement for raiding. Gonna check out elitist jerks tomorrow evening, if anyone has some more helpful links don't hesitate to post them. Thank-you for any comments and help.

EDIT: Really nice info here Enhance vs. Elemental. Although I would still greatly appreciate your input.

1st off, I'm heavily into "play what ya like". If you're not happy with what/how you're playing, then what's the point?

2nd, which performs better? Toss up.

Long version:
The issue with which spec does more while moving is purely situational, for the overall raid/dungeon. Each individual fight may be obvious who moves more (melee or ranged), but I prefer to look at the total picture.

That said, Elemental is heavily "turret" spec (standing in place to cast), although Blizz has said they hope/plan to change this in Cataclysm. Still, each fight is situational whether the caster has to move or whether it's adjust to the target moving (and range to it).

For enhancement, and melee dps in general, it's situational whether the encounter itself allows them to move and still stay in melee range ... or how much time is spent running in/out, between targets, etc. relying on instant abilities at that point.

3rd, with the buff stacking/coverage concerns these days, I'm surprised your GL is basing his concerns on movement, rather than melee haste from windfury totem.

In any case, I can't speak for the last fights in IC because I havent been there, nor expect to be in the immediate future.

Huh??? Since when is Ele better than Enh at moving fights?

Ele = Turret. Move and u cannot DPS. It's damm irritating.

I'm Ele/Resto. It's a very useful combo, especially on 10m ICC because I switch between specs depending on whether 2 or 3 heals are needed.
(e.g. Fester, rotface, princes, queen, dreamwalker, LK uses 3 heals, while the rest can/should be done with 2).
