I'm aware that Flametongue scales to its max potential with slower weapons. I would like to know if the damage is calculated before or after haste effects are figured in.
I currently use two 2.6 speed axes, but my actual weapon speed after haste + WF totem is more like 1.8. I'd rather not gimp my damage if FT is based on that 1.8 speed!
Edit: Couldn't spell "haste", apparently.

Weapon Speed, not swing speed, I believe. That allows it to scale with gear.
[EDIT] Just a note. Just because it would hit hardest with a weapon that is 3.5 seconds, doesn't mean that offers the best DpS. It, unfortunately, isn't a linear increase (meaning, the DpS FT offers with a 1.5 weapon isn't the same as a 2.4 weapon).

This would be REALLY easy to test for yourself, if you care enough.
Unequip all your gear but your weapon, and hit a target dummy. Record the amount it does.
Use a 40 Haste food or a Speed Potion, and repeat. If it does the same as the previous test, it's weapon speed. If it does less, it's swing speed.
