Tier 9 Armor QuestionFollow

#1 Mar 29 2010 at 12:34 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys, I've been running heroics for a while, trying to build up my supply of Triumph Emblems to get all of my Tier 9 gear. However, I know that if I buy the gear with the relics I get from ToC, then I can get better versions of the armor. I'm wondering, if I were to buy the normal Tier 9 armor now, when I upgrade will I have to spend the full amount of Triumph Emblems again or can I just pay with a fewer amount for the upgrade? Thanks!

You spend more triumph badges for the better gear + you need a trophy to boot. You get 232 T9 with badges alone. 245 with a 25 man or 10 man heroic trophy and the 258 are 25 heroic exclusive.

Triumph badges are cheap so who cares. Get t9 if it is food for your spec.

If you can get into ToGc10 or Toc25 then you have obviously spent enough badges to know how easy it is to get more.

What he said...

Basically - you should be buying your T9 straigh emblem gear if you need it. It's all very good and the set bonuses are helpful.

Most people only take 4/5 of the set to get bonus. For example I don't have the Helm as a better option is available. I do have 4 other pieces.

If you did come across the Trophy and wanted to upgrade, you could just buy the piece that fits the slot you didn't fill. (In my case that would be the head.)

Build a janky tank or holy set and grind a few hours a day of heroics, or find a tank/healer thats grinding a bunch for quicker queue times

I would just buy the 4p with badges since you can easily get that in 20 hours or so and that way you will have the gear to get into icc10 and toc25

One other thing to consider is that the non-set Triumph pieces are individually better than the T9 pieces. So if the 4-pc bonus isn't particularly good (Holy, in particular), 2-pc T9 and 2 of the ilvl 245 offset pieces might be a more effective gearout.
