I am kind of new as a Druid, just hit 70. Everyone always says Wrath until Eclipse, then Starfire. I guess I am not sure why or what happens. The FAQ mentioned Eclipse but no details

Eclipse is a proc that happens when you crit with either wrath of starfire when you have the talent. When you crit with one and it procs eclipse, it increases the damage of the other spell. The proc for each kind of eclipse is on a 15 sec cooldown, so you can't proc the damage increase to starfire more than once every fifteen seconds, but you can proc the damage increase for wrath while the starfire eclipse is on cooldown.

In short, with Eclipse, your DPS rotation looks like this....

Wrath til crit causes Eclipse-> Starfire til crit procs Eclipse -> Repeat...Innervate, Wrath of Nature and Trinket as necessary (or whenever they are off Cooldown), toss in Hurricane or Cyclone when necessary. Your DPS cooldowns are normally used at the start of a boss fight so that you have a possibility of them coming off cooldown later in the fight so you can use them again, which therefore will increase your total damage done for the fight.

I'm not Arex, but I believe Treants should be used right when you engage the boss, along with Starfall to increase your casting speed (because it crits and procs Nature's Grace).

You spam Wrath first because you'll get in more hits and thus crits in the same amount of time, enabling you to start the Eclipse cycle faster than if you started out with Starfire. Or something. It's been ages since I paid attention to Balance rotations.

What he said :)

This is my usually opener: Treants>FF>MF>IS>SFall>W

For a while I was finding that I wasn't getting into eclipse soon enough and MF was falling off before I could extend it. Now that I have higher crit it's not a problem. If you are experiencing this, I recommend doing T>FF>IS>SFall>MF>W. That'll give you an extra 2 secs to get into the rotation.

Your opening as balance is as follows.

Queue up Force of Nature while you have the boss targeted.

About 1 second before combat starts drop trees near the boss.

FF Boss

(if you have fetish of volatile power, the on use stack up haste trinket use this now)

Pop Starfall

MF Boss

IS Boss

Wrath > Eclipse > Starfire

Refresh dots as necessary, do not overwrite them though.

Is it bad news bears to use Starfall and trees while clearing the instance?

I'm pushing 2k DPS through dungeons now on my lvl 77 druid by using every CD I can when they pop. Is that wrong? Because it feels wrong.

That is certainly fine, just make sure you save them just before the boss fights so you have them available when it really matters. I certainly regularly use beserk while clearing trash (ususally on big trash pulls - swipespam FTW) - with a 3 min cooldown, it is usually only the last pull before a boss that you have to hold off using it.

Using your CD's is not bad, sometimes you can use them at ill timed moments (like on a trash pull 5 feet from a boss and then not having them for use on the boss) but using them is never bad...

Using them in an area where you could get your party wiped because of it would be stupid.... although in this case stupid would be bad...
