hello all and let me start by saying thanks to all the will reply to this!!!

ive been playing my rogue now for almost 2.5 years off and on. she was my first lvl 70 when BC came out. but since then she has been put aside for 3 different lvl 80's hunter, dk and lock. now ive come back and started playing her again. things have most definately changed since i last played her and im still lvling her and doing fairly well.

but, now ever where i look in the forums, i keep reading spreadsheets and everything referring back to EJ. this is hard for me to understand and ej is even more confusing with all the technical stuff. so im now asking myself is it really worth playing my rogue if i dont understand what everyone is talking about?

It all depends on what you want to do with your rogue. I mean, if your going to just play solo and goof around in pvp and do some heroics/instances then you should be fine, but if you intend to do any serious pvp/raiding then your going to have to learn the class. From my experience on my rogue (like 4 years or something) it's not really that hard of a class to pick up and be good at, it's when it comes down to the very fine points of gear choices, planning ahead for raids and pvp so you know what stats you can let fall to be picked up by raid buffs that it becomes a little complicated. That said, don't let the number crunchers here at at EJ intimidate you, the spreadsheets make life almost too easy (not that I'd give it up, EVAR!) and any question that cannot be answered by one, can be answered here. Keep on stabbin'!

right i understand that playing any class u have to learn the class. but learning spreadsheet i dont understand what this means.

for example i know on a deathknight 1 str = 2 AP (basic stuff) but is the spreadsheet more of a complex thing or is this the spreadsheet knowing what agi, Arp, haste, crit cap is for a rogue?

The spreadsheet does all that for you. Learning the spreadsheet just means knowing what the stats mean so you can adjust the spreadsheet to test possible upgrades or new gem combos, sorry I don't think I made that clear even to myself in my post haha.

I have found that the rogue is one of the most number-crunching classes in the game. That said, you can forego number-crunching altogether and usually even work out the larger part the best rotation yourself. You are just going to miss out on details such as "am I supposed to attack from behind?" and will need to look them up and take EJ's word for it, if you don't wish to understand the logics behind it.

...EJ is hard to understand?

Basic info.

More detailed, but still simple info. The above two links work together.

If you want more than those give DL the spreadsheet. Its not hard to use and will give you solid info.
