well after gaining 2 levels on my day off yesterday, i'm faced with the prospect of possibly hitting 80 in like, june, so i figure it's time to start looking ahead. i'm looking for a dual spec combo that can arena/heal/tank at will. obviously, i won't be pushing the latest content or 2200 ratings at this stage in the game, and iirc my guild has run one uld25 in the last 6 weeks... so the pinnacle of theorycrafted specialized main raid healer specs would prolly be wasted on me.
does a prot or a holy build lend itself better to doing both dungeons and arenas/bgs? errr, what i mean is which one's better at both?
and is it just me or do pally minor glyphs blow goats?

I did this once, pre-dual spec. I used to have a druid who could heal and tank in the same spec (just had to switch gear), but right now twospecs are really kind of dead. If you really can't use your off-spec for whatever it is you want to do, your best bet is going a prot-healing spec. It still has some use in arenas, it should be able to heal heroics and with a change of gear can probably tank decently enough too.
Not sure I understand the question - if I were you, I'd dual spec, run Prot for Dungeons only, and Holy for Dungeons / PVP. There are some PVP talents in Holy that you might need to drop if you're doing more difficult raids, but for 5-mans and easier raids, I can't see it being a problem.
I have 3 sets with 245 or better gear, and 2 sets of pvp gear with 950 res...
Paladins are fun but I wish maybe they didn't have so many viable specs =P
With lower gear you can get away with healing A LOT easier than tanking. I would suggest just going holy , it works for pvp and pve the same.

As far as Minor Glyphs, yes they blow. Hard.
The only decent ones are for Might/Wis (We keep asking Blizzard, "WHY Won't you give us 30min BoSanc glyph!?" but they refuse to respond on that), and maybe that one that reduces LoH recast if you're a healer. There's the undead one for Ret, but meh. 1%? 10 for every thousand? And that is _only_ on Undead. That seems a bit lack-luster to me. Hopefully they revamp this a bit in Cataclysm.
