Tanking weapons as frostFollow

Last night I was doing some 5-mans and we had a DK need roll on a tanking one-hander, then was shocked when I told him that with the invention of the 1h tanking runforge he really wants to use 1h dps weapons, not tanking weapons. I've seen this mistake by a number of DKs since that patch, so I thought I'd say it openly and clear:

If you want to tank as DW frost, please use dps 1h and the def/stam runforge enchants. It is the best option.

If you're feeling like you really have to have the avoidance, a fast tank OH isn't going to kill you, but yes, for optimal threat(and to not look moronic since two slow DPS weapons put out something like 13% more threat than two equivalent fast tank weapons), 2x slow DPS 1h with decent stamina are the way to go.



Part of me would love to put together a Quel'delar(cunning of the shadows) MH with a Burnished Quel'serrar OH for pure style.

Honestly tanking this expansion has been 90% threat 10% survivability. Many bosses can 2-shot you even with the best stam gear, so healers keep you 100% topped off. Since survivability isn't a huge issue, threat comes more into play. With the addition of many bosses that have hard enrage timers, you have to have dps going as hard as possible. There are many fights where you really don't have to think about the tank at all, as long as no dps is pulling off him. As such, you should gear your tank for max threat at all times, hence why you should NEVER use tank weapons as a frost DW DK.
