Dis Priest Follow

I have a dis Priest named Synerate on farstriders. I am learning to play a healer after years of being a hunter. I find in ICC my healing done is always near the bottom of the healers in the raid. I hope this is because of the damage I am preventing. Is this the case? or can my healing be up on top? I am usually the lowest on over healing and keep the sheild up all the time.
I just get frustrated when I hear comments when a another healer leaves.. " we just lost our best healer "
They are referring to the recount healing done (I assume)

This. Don't worry about not topping the meters, that isn't the Disc Priest's job. Your job it to make the group take as little damage as possible, so they don't need to be healed.

They most likely are referring to that, but pay them no mind. Depending on your gear and the gear of the helas, as long as you are doing your job correctly, you should not be topping a Holy Priest, a Resto druid, etc.

If you really want to see how much you are doing, I suggest this addon (requires Recount). It basically adds another panel (like dps, damage taken, etc.) that shows how much your spells, and the spells of others, have absorbed.

An alternative addon is this one (requires Recount and the addon listed above). It does the exact same thing as the addon I listed above, except it merges it into the healing pane to let you see just how good of a job you are doing (your "effective healing").

Skada is the disco priests friend.

Has a healing + absorbs meter in addition to a regular healing meter.

Start running combat parses, either worldoflogs or wowmeteronline

Evaluate from those logs if you are an effective healer or not

Not trying to nitpick but why don't you have Power Infusion in your build?

I never ever cast gheal so those points in divine fury are better else where for me, if you don't cast gheal often and don't mind the slower smite you might look into that...you don't gain too much just some spell warding

You seem to be gemming more towards disc so the spirit boot enchant is wasted
I gain about 4-6k mana per fight with my meta, I couldn't live without it

I'de switch those pure int to spell/int , same with the crit

Those are just some minor things, but for sure start doing a combat log report :)
