I'm curious how you all feel this will affect us? http://wow.allakhazam.com/story.html?story=21748

I'm very interested in how they say how haste would affect the cooldown of our runes... I wonder if this would compliment unholy presence effect to make it any more viable outside of pvp, and to what degree/limit could haste be applied?

Anyway, discuss?

EDIT: for clarity

Useless to discuss. Seriously.

We have NO clue how anything will work in any way that it matters. We know that AP will be exclusively from Strength. ArP will come from talents. Crit-Immune from talents. Etc.

What we don't know is how MUCH we'll get, whether these talents are based on a scaling value, like Strength, how much there will be on gear, etc.

There's absolutely no way to make any kind of reasonable predictions.

What diggory said. While it can be interesting to speculate, it's too early to make reasonable predictions, as too much is changing in ways we don't know of yet. I suspect that haste will eventually become a pretty decent stat for all DPS classes and possibly very important for PvP as well (to the level where it currently is for mages). I also suspect unholy presence will get some kind of haulover or change to make it more wanted for PvP, as I'm pretty sure Blizzard isn't happy with where it is now - Blood gives too much of a damage increase for 8% movement speed to really be worth it.

By the time it matters everyone will have new gear tuned to the appropriate levels. You shouldn't be using your level 80 gear THAT long after cat comes out

And since we should assume that they'll completely integrate everything on old gear (it isn't like your level 80 gear will have ArP and everything after that won't), it shouldn't even matter much anyway. Some people will see level 80 DpS rise, some will see it drop. But overall, the change will be minimal.

And, as Dil said, you are probably going to replace that gear by the time you start doing level 85 dungeons or shortly into the new raids, so it makes no difference.
