Titan's Grip. Dual-wielding polearms.

On a gnome.

Is this something that should only be attempted just to see a pipsqueak flail with spears in each hand, or could this actually be a viable plan? I kinda don't want to spend the time/effort to get a gnome all the way up to that level, only to realize that it's terribly, terribly gimped.

Gnome warriors seem to have it pretty harsh when it comes to pvp - pve, maybe not; but escape artist feels a little lacking to me.

Thoughts?

Titan's Grip doesn't allow you to DW polearms, only Axes, Swords, or Maces.

Gnome racials are a pretty much crap for a Warrior, but it's not like some other games (FFXI) where choice of race is a huge issue. It wouldn't be "terribly, terribly gimped," just not ideal.

...Ah, poo. Well, there goes half the dream.

Although, I suppose a gnome running around with twohanded anythings in each hand would be about as comical, if a little less Midget 300-esque.

Alright. Then supposing I make this gnome warrior, and try to play him out - aside from the benefit of looks when I get that 51pt talent - does he really have any usefulness?

I mean - will playing a gnome warrior mean that, more or less, I'll be sitting in the middling ranks of pvp, losing out to 'more ideal' race-class combinations?
Also - just how much does race matter when it comes to pve? Are things more or less the same for everyone, at some point in time - or does the gap become bigger at higher levels/better items/etc?

No, but Titan's Grip is more of a PVE thing. PVP go Arms (normally) or Prot IMO before Fury.

Seriously, racials are fairly even - IMO Gnomes are at the bottom of the stack and Humans are at the top, but it's not completely imbalanced like it was in Vanilla (Undead or GTFO).

Top things that affect winning in PVP (from most to least important)

Skill --> Spec/Gear/Professions/Teammates ---------------------------------------> Racials

Race hardly matters at all in PVE. Again, Humans IMO have the best Alliance racials (Expertise and a free incapacitate break), but it's not a HUGE difference (again -- again, back in Vanilla, Priests for serious guilds pretty much had to be Dwarves -- luckily Blizzard did away with this philosophy).

Professions, gear, and talents again are the big things that will affect you performance in PVE.

For the most part, the differences between races in WoW are cosmetic. Your gnome warrior would have the same offensive and defensive stats as his counterparts. Also, gnomes look cool when they hit Heroic Strike. True story.
