Frostfire questionFollow

I am an Arcane Mage and I run about 5k to 6k DPS in raids and about 4k to 5k in 5 mans. My question is kind of funny but I thought id ask. A new Mage joined our guild and when we were discussing DPS she said she does about 7.5K in a 5 man Heroic. I asked her what spec and she said she was frostfire. I looked up her gear and while our gear scores are similar she has 2200 SP compared to my 2400, her crit with fire spells is 30% and 25% for Frost compared to my 25% unbuffed and her Haste is 478 compared to my 750. She also has 404 Hit while I am hit capped. I have never been in a raid with her (we are a casual guild and dont raid much) nor have I run a 5 man with her Mage. I am thinking this is just hot air and therefore not highly concerned...but part of me wonders, is Frostfire a spec that can out produce Arcane as far as DPS? If so Id like to look into giving it a try otherwise I wont waste my time. Just a weird question so any response would be appreciated.

We had a mage try out a frostfire spec on rotface last week. I think he lasted one fight (maybe 2) before switching back to arcane. It was definitely much lower damage and DPS.
