Help me, low dpsFollow

#1 Feb 19 2010 at 10:06 PM Rating: Decent
At the moment im usually around 3k dps overall(5man groups), which is kind of low, i think.
I always use food buff Arp/stam or crit/stam 40/40, 40 strength elixir and 800 armor elixir.
My rotation is: whirlwind, bloodthirst, slam when bloodsurge, and HS/execute when above 30 rage.
Is my problem that im low on expertise? or what am i doing wrong, is it just bad gear or what?

Thx

Having 5 expertise is definitely not helping you. You are also over the soft hit cap.

Your itemization is pretty far off. Your armor pen/crit is pretty low, and you have a lot of haste gear.

  • Drop your hit to ~200
  • The soft cap is 8%. You get 3% from talents, this comes out to about 164 hit rating, but at your gear level, you would be better off sticking around 200 for rage reasons.
  • Get your expertise to 26

  • After that you should be looking at gear that is itemized with armor pen, crit(agi too) and strength(ap). Dont be afraid to take agility gear if it has the stats you need. Alot of the agility peices are BIS despite fury's reliance on strength.

There are usually some nice rings/necks with agi/crit/arp/ap. Fury is all about balancing your stats. This is the reason why everyone says to get a spreadsheet/rawr to help you.

Change your meta gem. Go RED. Can meet the requirement with all red gems and a single Nightmare Tear. Gives you more flexibility with gemming.

Use Expertise food you need more badly. And if you flask go Endless Rage not a str/armor combo with 2 potions.

    Also epic gems help.

Get more expertise, you need it badly.

How are you doing on rage? Are you hurting for rage ever?

Rule #1: If you aren't sporting BiS weapons, DON'T GO FURY.

You could also 'play' with presicion talent if you got already too much hit on gear...

Its the normal amount of dps you should be doing with your current gear. I dont think that you ll see big changes if you spend gold on premium gems for your current gear or if you take 2 talent points from X and put it on Y. You got a lot of crap gear with not enough Strength and Arm pen and mostly haste crap gear. You could improve yourself by doing some totc 10 or spending some gold on good pew pew gear (strength + arm pen + Crit+more room for gems)from AH. Ofcourse badge farming is top prio.

Taking points out of precision is never a good option. Even if you are over the soft hit cap, as long as your not over the hard hit cap, its more dps to leave the points in.

    Edit:woot post 420! hehe :P

If you haven't got 26 expertise, you shouldn't be fury. Gem for it if necessary.

And i would ignore armor penetration as much as possible. Fury is best with balanced stats and a lot of strength. You don't balance arm pen, you either stack it to the ceiling or don't use it at all.

This is very interesting but what exactly are you suggesting? Avoid gemming for Arm Pen or avoid getting plate gear with Arm Pen or avoid them both ? Lotsa plate badge gear have passive arm pen. You mean avoid those???
The guy has lvl 200 gear. whatever he takes, I mean WHATEVER is probably going to produce more DPS than he does now.

The OP is not going to stack arm pen(either gemming or by gear) because he cant at the moment and probably it will take him some time to do so as any other new furry or arms.

Be realistic. 3K dps is good as new furry with this gear.
Dont spend gold for anything on this level of gear. cheap gems and cheap enchants will get you were you want.
