3.3.3 PTR Notes-Rogue ChangesFollow

+ Filthy Tricks: Now Reduces the cooldown by 5/10 seconds and energy cost by 5/10 of Tricks of the Trade, Distract and Shadowstep abilities, and reduces the cooldown of Preparation by 1.5/3 minutes.
+ Ghostly Strike: If the rogue has a dagger equipped, this ability now deals 180% weapon damage instead of 125%.
+ Hemorrhage: If the rogue has a dagger equipped, this ability now deals 160% weapon damage instead of 110%.
+ Slaughter from the Shadows: Now adds 1/2/3/4/5% damage to all attacks in addition to its current effects.
+ Waylay: The debuff from this talent can now be caused by Backstab in addition to Ambush.



Well well well, this could either be very interesting, or fail miserably and change nothing.

Clearly they didn't like that Rupture-less Rotations were king.

And they also seem to want 3 viable specs for PvE.

The question is, will it work? What do ya'll think.

resilience will ofcourse affect this.

I've seen too many people complaining how blizz is giving dps a way around resilience...

aim sure the fellows at elitist and elsewhere are busy busy wondering and crunching numbers about this.

Looks like thay are realy wanting us to use daggers again, Most of the rogues I see around are going Combat-axe.

It's not a bad thing. A little diversity wouldn't hurt.
I can see the rotaions being a bit more complex than Combat and Mut.
With the time I spent ******** around on the Sub tree a while ago, I can see having great burst damage at the begining, but will have some problems sustaining the damage over longer fights. I think thats why its a nice spec to go into for PvP. ( which I don't do much of anymore )

The bottom line is, thing are constantly changing, and not always for the better, so do your research and do as best as you can.

Was thinking the same thing about the whole rupture thing. Looks like we may have to put it back into our rotation or something. I'm going to just wait and see what happens when the time comes. Until then, I'm not going to worry about it too much.

Okay, so I went to see what they were talking about on EJ. Looks like someone already attempted to do a beginning test on a dummy with the change based off the Mut spec. Stating that it wasn't a big difference.

Although, I'm thinking it'd bring combat more up to par with mutilate than it originally was. I'm not too sure though.

I'm thinking that if we go back to the 5r/5e rotation, that something like this may be what the spec change would look like for combat. I guess I just can't see a big change in the spec or anything other than going back to an old rotation.

Like I said, I guess I just wait and see what happens.

I hope a HaT spec becomes viable. I only have a baby rogue, level 20 or so, that I rarely use but HaT and the Subtlety tree seem really cool.

Regardless, I see this patchery as them try things out for Cata.

From what I've read on EJ:

-Subtlety won't be viable...still.
-Rupture Builds will be better but not by much.
-Use whichever build you're more comfortable with.

For arena, it isn't a buff for any comp but Rogue/Feral/healer.


Where it becomes ridiculous.
