About to head into my first Sindragosa fight tonight and I wanted to check something I read out beforehand.

There have been reports that if you judge the boss first and heal from melee range you can avoid the caster debuff and only gain the melee debuff from judging and/or melee swings. I haven't seen any definitive confirmation on this, anyone tried this out?

Neither have a minimum range, and neither has in their tooltip that you can't get both, so I'd assume you'd stack both debuffs on yourself. If that's wrong, it's most likely a bug.

The argument was that if you could get both debuffs at the same time then Rets and enhancers are pretty f#cked.

Malleable Goo, Vile Gas, Mark of the Faceless don't have a minimum range either. Doesn't mean the boss' logic doesn't look for ranged targets first. Smiley: tongue

This sounds like a pretty good idea actually, though if you limit the people at range you're basically condemning the ones left over to always be stuck with the magic debuff.

I can confirm that it works.

I opened the attempt with a judgement and immediately got the "Chilled to the bone" debuff, By judging on cooldown and random melee hits I kept that at 1 stack for pretty much the entire fight and did not get the caster debuff even once.

Most of the 'ranged' special boss abilities will only target melee if there aren't at least 3 people(for 10man, 7 in 25man if i remember right) at ranged. So healers are fine to stand in melee range on many fights as long as you have a balanced raid.

Ok, that time it worked for me must have been a fluke. My subsequent fights on her, I have received the debuff (albeit less regularly than others) and I can also get both the melee and caster debuff at the same time.

So much for all that...

This fight is like Valkyr twins as a paladin. You won't be pwning meters unless something is TERRIBLY WRONG.

Just keep the tanks alive below 35% and thats pretty much your role.

Finally got to try this fight. On the same night I finally gathered up a full set of spellpower gems, trinkets, and PvP libram.

The damage is so low and spread over the entire raid that I'm more or less worthless until phase three. Judgement of Light was my largest total heal on the raid, and Sacred Shield was my largest effective heal on just the tank. Very boring..

And yes, I did get both debuffs quite often. :P

Met this boss tonight on 10 man... wow phase 3 is intense. Our best try was 9.8% but it is all individual errors, we will get her down when we iron out the mistakes.

Any tips for Valithria 25 Bode? My guild strolled in and cleared Festergut, Rotface and Princes without any difficulty, then hit a wall on Valithria. How many healers would you take? How many in the portals? Which healers in the portals?
We had 4 healers in the Portals and focusing on the boss, 3 healers just keeping the raid alive. In the portal was myself, a priest and 2 shamans. I just spent the entire fight collecting orbs, beaconing Val, then spamming holy light on the tanks. We kept wiping due to tanks dying, and our healing wasnt going to beat the enrage timer with the setup we had. What were we doing wrong?

Your raid needs to handle blazing adds correctly, biggest key imo.

We useally take 6 healers

Paladins and shamans should take every portal without a doubt

Have 1 healer out 100% of the time healing the raid, and 1-2 other raid healers that take portals.

What I do for this fight is use seal of light and a few minor item swaps (hl libram, trinket etc)

I beacon val and stand next to her healing myself to get holy light glyph splash

Have your priest use GS 1/3/5 portals

With a lusted phase with 4 healers having 15+ stacks (4 or 5 portals or so) 10% goes by really quick

Tank deaths are people not handling adds well

For VDW, just a couple of tips on how to max out your healing.

Paladins should go into every portal.
Make sure you judge as soon as you leave the portal for haste buff.
Beacon and SS VDW (I'd suggest you make a macro to focus target VDW and cast beacon for use right after judgement)

First of all, keep the FoL HoT rolling on VDW then you have a couple of options:

1. Stand near the boss and spam HL on yourself
2. Have a hunter or lock pet stationed near the boss and spam HL on them.

The advantage of pet healing is some have +healing modifiers that don't transfer to beacon but do affect Glyphed HL splash.

HL Splash accounts for about 30% of my healing done on this fight so not to be sniffed at.

Save Hero for when you have a good 25+ stacks minimum when the healing can be maximised and dps can also benefit if they are near being overwhelmed.

Oh and don't forget to chuck a supercharged Lay on Hands at the end.
