Will my gorilla's Pummel act as an interrupt for the achievement "Less-Rabi"? Normally, the answer here is "go try it", but I'm trying to help a guildy get the achievement tonight and can't waste my lock-out.

How about a pet's "intimidate" in my BM spec?

Any help is appreciated!

I keep reading "less-Rabbi" and I wonder why there's an anti-semitic post on the Hunter forums...

I'd just go as MM and make sure you have a (preferably dps) shaman with you as well as a rogue, warrior or DK.
That way you have silencing shot, Wind sear and another interrupt.
But most importantly heroism.

I hate that achievement. His summons get progressively faster to the point that, if your latency is about 300 ms, you will have a VERY hard time hitting the last ones. I tried to do it on my DK once (and I was probably the only one interrupting), and I got all but the LAST ONE. He *literally* died about 1.3 seconds after it went off. D:<

You really just need high dps.
The 0.5 sec cast is really hard to interrupt (that's the 4th or 5th) so he needs to be dead before that happens.

Besides high DPS as people mention, another thing that helps a lot is don't do the first interrupt right until the end of the cast. This will push his second and other ones out a bit to give you slightly more time. Don't try on the subsequent ones because there's a good chance you'll just miss them.

It can be second or third depending on your dps. His cast time is tied to his health.

The best way I've done it is to bring him just under 50% wait for the cast and then blow him up. Everyone who has an interrupt hits it 5 seconds after the previous one, in case you don't get him down in time.

The way I found to do it the three times I have...

1. Kill him in 15 seconds, he will only cast it once. (All dps above 4k)
2. Kill him in 16 seconds and spam your interrupts at 40k hp. (two casts)
3. Get a tank with their interrupt off the global cooldown *cough* Death Knights *cough* and have the tank take any the interrupt after the first one.

15 seconds is my record, and that is death like two or three seconds after his first cast. Druid tank, Arcane mage, Arcane mage, survival me, and priest healer.

32 Seconds is three casts. Gorilla's do not work on this fight simply because if you have anywhere near decent get your your pet should have at least 50 focus at all times and that means he is always using his focus dump move. When he spams his focus dump his pummel is affected by the global cooldown. Which means if that last cast comes when he is low on health the gorilla will not be able to pummel it. Also it is ineffective to use the gorilla for the first interrupt because it is best to wait and stop the interrupt near the end of its cast to ensure the maximum benefit from the 2-4 seconds where mob can't use spells of that school again.

To answer your question, no a gorilla doesn't work to get the achievement.

I haven't tried intimidate, but once again, the fast I have ever seen a pet attack speed may have been .86 seconds. Those casts can get down to 0.5 seconds. Intimidate affects your pet's next melee attack. Not to mention the time it takes to comprehend that he is casting and to press the intimidate button. Is intimidate affected by the global cooldown?

Being MM isn't quite effective here, because silencing shot has to be shot and by the time it hits him there is a high chance that the cast is over, unless you are 5 yds right from his face. Once again though, the dps you lose from running to position yourself next to him after the tank pulls is valuable lost time. Every second of damage you can deal counts.

By far the best method is a tank with a interrupt off the global cooldown, then no matter what your dps is like you should be able to handle the fight if your tank is smart. If all else fails nuke him!

Have a mage do the interrupt at 50% and you have even longer til the next one.

I believe my (real life) brother once told me that he did it with his tank and 4 dps, no healer. He blew his cooldowns, interrupted the first and said it was an enormous peace of cake that way.

Been a while though, so ... I hope I remember well.

Warrior's shield bash is also off GCD. As far as I am aware, all interupts that do nothing but interupt are not on the GCD.

The annoying this I fnd about this fight, is when you arrange a interupt rotation for the two casts, then everyone blows theirs on the first.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I know paladins and druids don't have an interrupt off the GCD.

The four dps works really well you just need to know who you have with you and what they can do. This is the last achievement it seemed that alot of people in our guild needed for their drake, so we ended up doing this place like four nights in a row.

I have tried the tank-dps-dps-dps-dps. We had a bear tank in his dps gear, me survival hunter, arcane mage, unholy death knight, and a boomkin. All goes to say that we did not get the achievement, he hit the 16 second mark, cast his move in .5 seconds or quicker then died. In all fairness the boomkin's dps was a little low, so it is possible, just know what everyone is capable of.
