Holy gearing up at 80Follow

I'm about to ding 80 on my healadin and I'm looking for advice on gearing options.

I plan on running lots of instances, as it's an easy way to gear quickly through emblems.

My question is, should I take gear with Haste or Crit? There are several items that are basically the same except for the Haste/Crit swap. Some of these items include mail gear with Haste versus plate gear with Crit. Just wondering if I should get the haste gear or stick to the plate. I know armor isn't really important to a holy pally, but clearly the plate pieces were designed with us in mind.

tldr: Should I prioritise Haste or Crit on emblem gear?

Unfortunately, it was also designed before Illumination was nerfed to the ground.

With our talents in the current balance, Haste is your best throughput stat and Mp5 your best regen stat. Since Crit has components of both throughput and regen, you'd think it would measure up, but the Illumination nerf gutted the regen, and in practice too much of the throughput gain is wasted on overheals.

My philosophy was to look at plate Haste/Mp5 gear as my "core". Outside that, I have usually had at least one piece of shammy mail, which helps to balance out the Crit-heaviness of Tier gear.

In any case, definitely softcap Haste ASAP. That's probably Ilvl 232 if you're picky about what you take. Also, IMO skip T9 gear and use the badges for the 245 offset gear - the 4pc bonus is very meh and the 2pc bonus is at best worthless (exception: the gloves are H/Mp5 and there's a lack of alternatives).

When you are in that initial gear phase you take what you can get.

From there it will go as follows Aim for 680 haste. Focus gear in the following order

1. Gear with Haste/Mp5 on it

2. Gear with Haste/Crit

3. Mp5/Crit gear only if it is a huge upgrade, or you have huge amounts of haste (850+)

Libram - Get the ilvl 200 one that removes -113 mana from HL

Gem - Straight Intellect, for socket bonuses +10 all stats, luminous Ametrine (12spell+10int). Insightful Earthsiege Meta

Spec, is pretty flexible actually. I'd recommend 51/0/20 or 51/5/15 depending on how much SP you have. 51/20/0 is also doable, bubble sac got nerfed but is still good and divine sac is nice for clutch 5 man moments or if they put you in a tank group on Festergut.
