See this thread for example. Smiley: wink

You lost me on that one.

Am I missing something?

Maybe my standards are low or something, but I swear I don't see anything wrong with your posts here Moz. I mean, sure, there always is room for betterment but they're not fundamentally rubbish and it sounds like you make them out to be. I know we're all perfectionists here but I think it's important to try and see your own standards in relation to the rest of the world sometimes. I'm not saying you shouldn't see your flaws, but you should realise that others won't hold you to the same standards you do.
That being said, aren't you a native speaker? If you are, comparing me to yourself would be totally unfair. Not that I mind.

Fishboy (seriously, we need a nickname for you, mister), I tend to think people are at least my age when they type properly. I think it's mostly because most text speak using slackers I know are 16-17 because they're my classmates. The times when you didn't actually have your friends' Facebooks were nice. Knowing this sort of thing hurts my opinions of perfectly nice people, haha.

I don't want to sound too arrogant, but actually most of my friends when I was 14ish were at least 17 or so, many in their mid to late twenties. It's sort of the other way around now, I guess.

Edit: Oh, and Aeth, clearly you're still at Scholar. Yeah.

I have always thought that IDrownFish was a old person, I mean really old like over 50.

As for Moz, I always wondered why he had the hater brigade on his **** and never liked it as he while sometimes had an 'out side' opinion he always seemed to know what he was talking about and never tried to talk about stuff beyond his scope, unlike some other posters.

And teacake is awesome.

Yeah, teacake is very awesome.

And Norway is weird, I mean, they're not even part of the EU. They're like Switzerland, without actually being Switzerland.

Moz, I rate up your posts all the time. You're smartlike.

Norwegians are weird? That explains a lot. My husband is of Norwegian and Danish stock.

*Feels the love*

I guess they do have improved over time, though I still have to say there's a few posts I've made here that make me feel ashamed of myself. On boards like the Escapist I can only even remember one post that I felt wasn't "all that good" - in my humble opinion, all others are pure brilliance. Maybe my standards are too high, though, I guess.

"Kalivha" wrote:

No - I'm actually from the same country as you. The same region even, if I remember an earlier post by Aethien correctly. You two weren't from 040, were you?

"Kalivha" wrote:

I have to agree with this. I once named him fishmurderer, but it just doesn't work as well. It's also not a name that comes with natural nicknames. For example; we have a warrior in our guild named Kyunar and vent pronounces his name as "Sugar" - hence a nickname is born.

Teacake is brilliant. She's one of the few persons I know that manages to make posts that are not always very informative but nevertheless always either hilariously funny or just plain clever.

Good find. And aye, I think you have a point =P. The OP was one of the less interesting posts made over there anyway.

Wait, Aethien isn't from the same country as I am, and I live in a completely different country now.

So I think we need some kind of clarification here.

I'm from Germany. If I assume you're too, no, I'm originally from 030 but I <3 040. If I ever go back, I'd totally move there. Not that I really plan on going back. And I really don't know where you might have gotten that, if you mean what I think you mean.

Aethien is from the Netherlands. Different country, yes?

And I live in England now, have been since last summer.

So in conclusion, I'm confused here.

Edit: Also, did you just call me a "him"? ò.ó

Ah! That explains. No, I'm from the Netherlands, like Aeth. And I was thinking Aeth was from 040 in Holland. I'm not, but I'm closeby.

Nah, 040 is just the closest airport, but Aeth is moving in a fortnight or so.

As for me, if I can get a hang of the language fast enough (and I am seriously wondering how you never noticed how bad I'm at it what with me insulting people in really bad Dutch all over the place), and also get an offer from UvA for the subject I want to do, I am totally moving to Amsterdam. There are four other options, two are out because of the country they're in (no, I do not want to live in Lyon or Rome), one is in the UK and ridiculously overpriced like all higher education here, and the last one is in Ireland and the University in question isn't doing very well in the ratings, even if it's the best in Ireland. They don't have tuition fees over there, but fees & accomodation in Amsterdam are still far cheaper than accomodation alone in Dublin.
So yeah, Amsterdam is really the only option so I'll probably apply to Utrecht as well because university in NL is bloody amazing value for money wise if you're German.

Also, make an alt on Kazzak to play with us. This is obligatory. You might also want to join Skype because I have a Dutch exam in a few months and no clue where to begin. And I need to pass it since it costs money. I do not have a teacher or a class. Aeth is teaching me.

If you don't mind me bursting into a laugh every now and then - No offense meant, but I yet have to find a German person who speaks a foreign language without a ridiculously funny accent. Then again, you can laugh at my German in retaliation. I might just do that though, could probably use the company every now and then. Assuming Aeth doesn't mind.
#43 Feb 06 2010 at 2:22 PM Rating: Good
Hey, cool. And Aeth says I have a ridiculous English accent in Dutch. My English is as close to perfect as it gets. Really.

Most English people think I'm a non-English native speaker or at least South African.

And was that only about the Skype or also about the making an alt bit? Because if you do make an alt, it might motivate me to actually log onto the game sometime soon.

That settles it =P

It was regarding both things - I'm currently trying to make the alt but can't really decide on the class or race yet. And how it might work with any alts you have lying around.

I've got too many low level alts.

Mage is level 23, druid and hunter are level 12 (but I won't play my hunter because I failed at spelling "Krabbetje" and my lock's Inscription is not high enough for the pet name change), my lock is level 11 and shammy 10, I believe. My shammy is extra cool because her name is Visje.

So yeah, I'd be fine with healing or DPSing, I don't like the idea of tanking.

Ideally, bring your alt up to the level of my priest and Aeth's druid and DPS for us. :3

Also, quite obviously, we're Horde.

Hmm yeah, I've got a lock and mage I can level that are 16 and 1.
Could also level my 15 rogue or 26 paladin.
Although the latter two would require some badgefarming for more heirlooms.

Also, coordinating everything, inviting you into the guild etc. would probably be easiest if you added me on Skype (name's kalivha), as I cannot run Firefox and WoW at the same time without having my PC slow down considerably.

What level is your priest?

I made a warrior, playing with his UI now. Never really got a chance to level a Tauren up, should be interesting. The name's Calam, so you can let me know whenever you're around. Also, of course you're horde. I wouldn't have it any other way =P.

Edit: Ah, I missed your reply. Will work on Skype in a bit, I need to reinstall it since my PC got broken and fixed.

It's not unlikely that there's someone online who can invite you.
If you happen to not have been invited yet before I get a chance to log on again I'll add you to my friendslist anyway.
