Simple question really. I have like, 5 sockets to fill when I hit 65 on two pieces of gear. Which stat should I be overloading, since the socket bonuses are ***** at this level??

I was told haste today by a guildie, then SP by another....

To be honest, I pretty much ignore sockets till im lvl capped. Gear will get replaced in a blimp, anyway. But, if you really want, put on SP if you are moonkin/tree.

A blend of common sense and cheap gems

Let's say you are looking at 5 Gems that price ok - 15 to 25G.... That averages to about 100G...

Pick up whatever is cheapest, but still adds to you.

For example - (Melee DPS Druid) - Yes - Agility is probably best... But if you can get Crit, STA, Hit, whatever... and save money - Do it. Now... you must apply some common sense - Spell power isn't a Melee stat...

That's how I do it...

Yeah, whenever I get gear with sockets pre-80, I tab into the AH to the specific color of the socket and then just buy the cheapest one(s) available that have relevant stats. Works well enough.

I was too tired to mention that I'm tree/balance. ><

I LOVE low level gear with sockets. After I level, it'll bring my total to 10 sockets. And really, green quality gems(if you don't want to spend much) from NR are usually just a few gold. Easy way to boost my toon.

I'm really not going for the socket bonuses though, since at this level, 3 sockets of the right color = 2MP5. My JC/enchanter has been prospecting a bunch on that server too, so I have 20+ blue quality gems of each kind on him right now. Not a big hit to steal a few for this toon, although red, yellow, and orange gems are worth much more than purple and green. Guess I'll probably throw on +SP/+Spirit and go on my merry way.

Thanks!

I know those gems are cheap. And I actually could cut them with my main, but, really, I think its a waste of time. The change isnt even that noticeable.
