Which Idols to use? :: Free Realms

I am currently running with an idol I bought of the AH that increases my Moonfire spellpower by 33 but haven't seen anddon't really see another one to use on wowhead being a balance druid except the one you get from the quest to learn swift flight form.

I heal in dungeons and use balance for questing so I need/ want to have the best one I can get for each spec.

Basically I just want to know if anyone has advice or input on one they used for leveling or if I'm stuck using what I have given the general lack of options.

What level are you?

I only ask since you mentioned questing. Wasn't sure if you meant dailies or leveling.

For Tree pickup the Idol of Awakening plus one of the +spellpower idols.

The frost badge one is slightly better throughput wise, but probably not enough to justify spending frost emblems on it at this stage. The awakening one can be worth a lot of mp5. It is also good for longer fights, or if you are lacking a good mana regen trinket. Swap idols as the situation warrants.

I know nothing about balance idols...

Sorry, levelwould be quite relevant here. I'm only 63 and questing through outlands while sitting in the que for dungeons. I normally heal in the dungeons, but because I do questing as Balance and like to occasionaly DPS in dungeons as well, I like to be well geared for both. Fortunately the gear sets needed to heal or DPS are essentially the same except for the idols. Thanks for the input so far.

Easiest thing to do is just look at the list here, find something relevant to your purposes (and obtainable :P)

I tried that, and found the choices quite lacking for my level, and terrible access to ones as I'm leveling. I was just wondering if the options truly were that bad for a balance and resto idol in the leveling scene from 60-80 and what other people's experiences were with acquiring idols while they were leveling.

Yes, your choices really are that bad. Blizzard never thought too highly of the slot before Wrath I think, the only people remotely well off that weren't using an actual ranged weapon were Shaman, though not by much. Presumably this is partly due to not wanting to have items that only absolutely benefit one class out of the 10 or so available, though that didn't stop them in raids.

There may be one you get in early Lich King questing zones, not sure.

There is green quest reward idols from Borean Tundra and Dragonblight, but their geared towards Feral Druids. There also some from the Vendors in Grizzly Hills for Venture Co. coins. Looks like I'm going to have my Idol of Moonfire for a while, unless I do the Sethekk Halls Raven God Questline and get that one which is pretty sick.

Thanks again, like you said Blizzard just needs to reevaluate the itemization of that slot for the classes through the leveling process.

You should do that questline at some point because a) It's a great questline, and b) It lets you get the Essence infused moonstone needed to summon Anzu, who drops one of the more rare mounts.

There really aren't any other Balance idols that are worth getting until you get 80. There was a great one for 70 but required heroic badges, and it's not worth spending that time farming the badges, not to mention you'll be hard pressed to find people who'll want to do those old heroics anyway.

I plan on it, I'll be working on getting the gold for epic flying, since you need to have epic flying training to unlock the questline, as soon as I hit 68 so I can start the questline at 70. Until then I'll be questing and instancing my way to 80 and gear. Thanks for the input.
