Meh, Grid is overrated.

I use mouseover macros and just hit 1-5, depending on the heal I need. It also enables me to right-click avatars without casting heals and whatnot. Useful for stuff like whispering people with crap names, or uninviting people.

Even in a five man I use / commands for that stuff. The tab to complete a name is great for people with non-standard characters for names. This of course would be ruined by names that start with a non-standard letter like Aethien with the fancy Ae thing that I can't seem to find on my keyboard.

But regardless I use a lot of / commands.

Isn't the auto-complete feature an add-on? And yes, I use /w <name> a lot as well, but sometimes you need to set raid icons and using Grid with the click thing just ruins it.

Besides, I can reach 1-5 and Alt, Ctrl, Shift easily on my keyboard, so that's 20 key-bindings right there. Considering I move a lot with my mouse, I can even cast spells while on the go, so clicking portraits just seems like overdoing it a bit.

I only heal on my priest and I use Grid.

I use WASD to move and the mouse the heal with uber-macro-ness. Granted click macros but I don't have a mouse.

Shut up, I know I need a mouse. Just lay off off all ready.

Mouse over + Grid would be so cool. [*jealous*]

Wait, Horse, you don't have a mouse? And you're healing how?

Smiley: dubious

I use a priest to heal. Duh, druids are for tank.

But no, I use track pad to click a target then hit a button.

I just stay insanely active and can move while I heal.

Most of my heals aren't the hand I move with. I do have 2 hands.

But really should get a mouse.

PS: Friar has all ready scolded me.

Madidus is Latin for drunk?

That's too awesome to be right.

Dos, I've read up on your posts and enjoyed following your groups progress.

My first Heroic running toon was a warlock and I learned all the fights without being vital to the groups survival. That experience enabled me to heal heroics with less stress than if I stepped into heroics for the first time being expected to heal like a pro. Knowing the fights is key to heroics, as you have seen with your own eyes now. I also did the feral kitty approach to gear at first. But once I started spending emblems on the T9 resto gear, that gear vastly outgeared my feral set, and I was set to heal instead.

My only advise to you now would be to get a few addons. Much like everyone else suggests. I use Healbot which I find imperative to do a good job. (If you chose grid or healbot would be personal preference) I can do the job fine with the standard UI too, but the addons just make the job so much easier with added flexibility of being more mobile during the fights. I also NEVER miss my own healthbar this way.

I hope you update us on your progress as you finish the various HC's.

My take on the heroics;
Fastest: A-N. The hunter bug makes this one go in 10 minutes.
Hardest: HoR. If dps doesn't coordinate on the priests first, the waves can be overwhelming.
Easiest: I've found UP to be really easy after the nerf. Only the trash before the final boss can sometimes cause problems.
Best time vs Emblems: Occulus can be done really quick with a coordinated group compared to the amount of emblems you get.

Of course your group may feel differently about it.
