* Spell power is what makes your spells hit for more, including critical hits.
* Crit rating increases your chance to crit.
* Haste decreases the time it takes to cast a spell.
* Mana per 5 secs and intellect increases the amount of spells you can cast before running out of mana.

What level are you? How does your talent build look? Could you link us your profile in the Armory?

Very hard to tell you what to do better without knowing where you currently stand.

Just Google Moonkin Leveling Guide, look at the sticky or spend you know, 5 seconds using your brain to look up or think about it (I cast spells...so MAYBE spell power helps....) the information. The amount of information floating around for basic questions like this is astounding...as is your lack of effort.

To be fair the boomkin portions of the sticky are a bit lacking compared to the rest of it.

Well even if he does fix it or I research it you still have to play nice.

This is the druid forums after all.

We give people the benefit of the doubt and act in a helpful and friendly fashion before we Maul them to death for repeat offenses.

When we turn on people it is extra nasty though as it is all of us pouncing from behind without mercy.

The sticky may be lacking for Moonkins, however it is not devoid of the basic information the OP was asking for. I feel my earlier statement still applies, but the sticky should be updated or at least include a link to a more in depth forum/ thread/ website.

I started my ZAM life in the Hunter forums, Æthien was there, and for those of you who know it, Caldone and a few others who were less than friendly. Well the basics of the Hunter forum culture were this:

1) Spend some time looking for information yourself before posting a question.
2) Check the Sticky for that information before you post another question asking the same thing.
3) Don't be a complete jackass to anyone unless they deserve it, however, being straight forward and frank do not equal jackass.
4) It is perfectly alright to call someone out when their lack of effort is readily apparent and expect everyone else to do their work for them.
5) Stupid questions deserve stupid answers, simple questions deserve simple answers, and complex questions are answered by Æthien, Mazra, Arex, (insert name of forum Guru here) =P

Anyway, this whole mentality kind of arose out of the "What's the best Hunter pet?" question...now it's easily answered, back then it was easily answered, soooo why the question? Hence the frustration with seeing said question multiple times on the same forum page.

Coddle a noob, they will always be a noob. Give people the easy way out and they will never figure it out themselves. It's like raising children, you have to teach them to do things themselves, and also reprimand them when they do something stupid/ wrong when you know they know better.

I am by no means calling anyone a child or idiot, I am just trying to rationalize my response and mentality surrounding situations such as the one started in this forum. And want to apologize to anyone for offending them if I did.

So Æth is a druid smart person now, as well?

I'm so in over my head here.

Also, reading stickies does help.

With my real life mates, I always get angry if they refuse to read through their class compendium at EJ if they insist on playing. The way stuff is handled here (even on the Hunter forums) is much nicer than the way I treat random people at college.

I still end up telling them the hitcap for their class/spec and that sort of thing after a while because it's horrible to see them fail too badly.

I always try the stickies, but some of the stickies here on Allakhazam are a little out of date. I read the sticky then notice that the last time it was edited was in 2007......

I have found it often difficult to find introductory info for a lot of classes. Back in the day you could find a plethora of leveling guides (which order to pick talents etc.), but not many of them seem to have been updated. I end up in the EJ theorycrafting thinktank or threads there half the time which all assume a pretty large amount of prior knowlege - which leaves me searching here and various other places for the info I need. Our stickies here have usually been pretty good and up to date and I think we may be used to being spoilt :)

Fixed.

And I think each class forum should have a Simple questions, simple answers or similar thread (like I did for the hunter forums)
I also get annoyed by out of date stickies, which is why i read over my hunter sticky regularly and try to keep it up to date.
But seeing as the last post in the sticky is January 7th and made by the author it's probably up to date.

I'm lazy and don't want to do have to it. ;) Also I recently refreshed the feral parts and someproteinguy gave me new stuff for the resto parts.

Also Quor and Friar know an ******** about druid and also help out as needed.

People usually just make a new thread or post in the big one with random questions.

Typically we get people up to par relatively fast in a 'stupid question' thread by giving way to much info and then also referring to the sticky. We also tend to keep discussing the question or a related one after the OP's question has been answered.

For the most part I don't mind answering these questions. I get to ramble on about druid stuff and get more technical than needed.

Mainly the rambling part.

Assuming bala' means balance. If you are only puling 1.5k DPS I am sure you need to reevaluate your spec, rotation and gear choices.

An armory link would help. Well to be honest an armory link would be required to help. Also a general run down on your rotation.

This.

My role here on the board is somewhat limited. I'm the odd guy with all the posts, standing in a corner, playing with my action figures while... wait, what?

I'm with Horse, I like the rambling part. Good stuffz.

I would have been more helpful, but I don't know chicken.

All I know is what I've gathered in passing and it's all probably wrong anyway. Something about squakandawe, lotsa crit, and making sure you /dance at every conceivable opportunity.

I'm assuming EJ is better for boomkin; its been hit & miss in this expansion for resto. :S

There are a number of good forums/ posts out there for the balance minded druid, I just googled Moonkin leveling guide or some such and found plenty of informative posts.

The main idea is that the spec is exceedingly flexible depending on your mana needs and rotation preference for leveling purpooses. End-Game DPS has similar flexibility but has key talents and a well defined spell rotation for max DPS. Here is what I know of the Stat needs and rotation/ priority list.

Stats: Hit to cap of 17%, keep in mind talents, 263 is all that is needed to get to cap if you have all of the hit talents > Haste to cap which I believe is 400 > Spell Power > Crit > Int (these last 3 will be dependant on your needs as Int will come before if you are having mana problems, but this changes with spec as well. More info in the guides, but the sticky here is decent as well.

Rotation: Apply DoTs and Fairie Fire and reapply when necessary, Starfire til Eclipse procs then switch to Wrath, Wrath til Eclipse then switch to Starfire, repeat.

Happy hunting fellow laser chicken =D
