Then I don't get why they'd disable his auto-attack. It's kind of a conflicting message...

they disabled it because people have to run past him with all of the movement, and if you are too high on threat he will turn and punch you and kill you in one hit.

We tried this fight tonight with a frost mage ranged tanking Keleseth. He got one-shot the first try and we simply decided to have a retadin spec prot for it. While he had a tough job running all over the damn place picking up all the orbs, but it did went a lot better from that point on - we probably could've downed the fight if we hadn't wiped on other stuff (beach ball failing, fire orb spawning next to me and 1-shotting me, tanks being too far away to all receive heals, etc). While I guess a ranged tank could do it, I'd simply suggest getting the person with the highest amount of hit points for it.

Also,

Your ranged tank needs to cancel any shadow resistance buffs they have. The resistance can cause you to resist the shadow ticks from the nuclei, which in turn causes you to resist the resonance buff.

That is going to be posted on our guild forums - after an hour of wiping on stupid stuff I do *not* want another near-kill because this happened. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh yeah, putting this out there, one of the Dalaran Horde guilds apparently downed it their first trip in there last week. (It may now be two, they both generally compete for firsts) They used a PvP-geared Warlock to do it. Lots O'health and lower damage taken from the DoTs. Could be worth getting one of your ranged to don their PvP gear and go at it.

Got them down in about 5 tries last night, fight was truly not that difficult. I was posted up on the podium/stage to keep any kinetic bombs up in the air that spawned there (on our kill I had 3 going at once). I used a mouseover ice lance macro that worked well ( /cast [target=mouseover, exists] Ice Lance ) which allowed me to keep my target on the boss when I had time.

You can also iceblock the empowered fire orbs that come at you (they still do explode, but for me nothing was close to me so I didn't have to move and just IBed it and it hit me then I /cancelaura-d out of it.

Here is a little flash video that a guy on my server made. Really explains the entire fight in less than a minute.

I'm starting to think I'm surrounded by morons and invalids.
We STILL can't get the gat damn princes down. I'm over here pulling 5K HPS (On my Druid) to keep the gat damn warlock alive, and he's sitting there with no orbs, getting thwacked full charge. I tell him to get an orb, and he usually tries to grab one, but then is right back in Keleseth's face keeping RIDICULOUS amounts of aggro up when NO ONE ELSE IS HITTING HIM.
As I understand, a warlock's full regime of dots should be enough to keep threat above the healers, right? And then he should be concentrating on the orbs / moving to the orbs?

I've read up on the fight (I don't watch videos because I do NOT trust flash videos), I know what's going on. My tanks know what's going on (One of my warrior tanks recently left his 25 man raiding guild on another server, they have BQ down). MOST of my DPS SHOULD know what's going on.

*Sigh* WTB some people to transfer to my server so I can get this guild where it SHOULD be with the core talent I have available.

Have the warlock get MDed/Tricksed at the beginning to help hold a bit more aggro while he is picking up orbs. He should pretty much have at least 3 of them on him at any given time (ours had around 6 at some points as others died he picked them up). rolling dots on them to make sure they stay on him. If he isn't picking up the orbs he is failing as that is what keeps him alive, nothing else can.

Oh, I know that he NEEDS the orbs, he's just too stupid to actually collect them.
My previous post was more of a rant than an informative post, and for that I apologise ^^

Rolling dots is unnecessary, the nuclei fixate themselves on the last person to take an offensive action against them. You fire off one instant (if that means a dot, that's fine, only need one though) and it glues to you with 1000k threat. This is another reason a ranged tank is advantageous here, as a melee tank will lose nuclei to dps doing splash damage.

Good point, because it isn't always avoidable without a total respec for some clases. A Blood DK would be hitting them, for example. And there's no way around them without a severe hit to their DpS or a Respec to another spec which, with Blood gear (which prioritzes ArP in a way others don't) would also be a DpS drop.
