Should I come back to WoW?
Yes :15 (83.3%)
No:3 (16.7%)
Total:18

I've been considering making a return to WoW. I'm just wanting some opinions on whether I should come back, or not. I'll definitely change servers, and possibly faction if I do come back.

I'm curious on what some of my fellow rogue friends think about it. I know some of the "older" posters don't play anymore, but some of you guys/gals do. Please vote, and leave reasoning behind your choice.

Here are my reasons for playing/not playing:

I should return because:
I enjoy the game.
It kills a lot of time when I'm bored at home.
I miss the skill involved in PvP. I'm currently just playing MW2, and can't stand all of the camping/luck involved.

I shouldn't return because:
My gear is crap compared to everyone else, right now.
I've gone almost a year without playing.
It would possibly be a pain to find a decent guild. Unless, I joined someone's guild here.

I just hate being behind the power curve. Plus, a few things have changed, so I'd have to research a little bit to be back up to par on stuff.

Anyways, I want to know the rogue forums opinion on whether I should return, or not. Please vote, and comment.

I voted yes, and here is why.

Its not hard to gear up anymore, its easy to find what to do(plenty of simplified rogue guides around), and guilds...well good luck with that.

If you enjoy the game come back, if not, don't.

Thanks for posting/voting, Moo. I hope to hear from a few others before I make my final decision.

I really just miss the PvP aspect of the game. Console games don't take as much skill as computer games, so it make for more bs to win.

Come back.

The new random LFG tool is great. You can out do 90% of the people with easy and talk trash in /g.

I haven't done any PvP in a few months so can't comment BUT the new resilience change should make intelligence and team work be a larger component.

The rogue forums are boring, if you played more you would post more.

Gear is easy to come buy, I have a DK that dinged 80 3 days ago with 2T9 and the 245 sigil all ready.

A year with out playing will make it more fun as the new content will be, well new.

If you are on a decent server finding PuGs for 10 man content is easy. Many have multiple ICC10 and ToC/ToGC10 PuGs going on daily. Finding a guild may take a bit but access to raiding will be easy. Especially if you are competent as people will remember that sh*t.

If you are as skilled as you think you are the power curve is non-existent as the bulk of them still haven't caught up.

edit: my friend is moving back out here in a week or so he has a 360. i'll keep an eye out. user name to come when i make one

Thanks for the reply, Horse.

Yeah, I think I'm going to transfer to a whole new server, IF I decide to come back. As of right now, I think I might, but it won't be until the beginning of next month.

I'm hoping for some server suggestions from someone. Because, well, it's a pain to look up all of that information.

Gearing up takes no time whatsoever.

I would say you should come to Kazzak but you're playing on the wrong set of realms. Smiley: frown

I voted yes, but in the end of course only you can decide if it's worth it. I keep wavering. I loved 1-60. I enjoyed 60-70. I'm now finding that at 80, I'm not enjoying endgame much, and after 6 characters even leveling is getting stale. However, after a break I tend to get a new wind and enjoy it again for a while. I'd say pick it up (it's only $15 for one month- the cost of a movie ticket and snacks). If you like it again, keep playing. If not, don't renew for a while. Repeat whenever you get the urge.

All in all, it's a good game- it kept me occupied for five years, when most games last a couple of months to half a year. I'm still playing, but currently thinking of taking a break myself- if only so that I can focus on real life issues, like selling my house so that I can finally go to university. Associate's degrees only take you so far.

Bah. Your polls are no fun. No third "option I vote to ruin your poll".

Anyway, if you enjoy the game, then you're going to enjoy putting in all that work to get back on top again. 'Nuff said?

You should come back and you should come play on Fenris with me.

Other than that, others have pretty much summed it up. You can easily get some T9 gear through running random heroics for a while (Emblems of triumph from bosses plus two extra after completing the random - 2 frosts on your first random).

Changes haven't been too horribly big, so it should be a smooth transition for you.

If your reasoning for not rejoining is "I'll be behind everyone," then come back. You can gear up in a couple of weeks, depending on your play time. It's simple.

If, on the other hand, you had quit for social/RL issues, then no, stay away. RL > a game. But it seems like you're just afraid of being the small fish. Small fish get miracle grow. You'll be fine in no time.

Thanks for all of the replies. There was no RL issues with why I quit. I just simply got tired of playing. I've recently been watching a lot of pvp videos, and reading up on the few changes to rogues, so I think I'll be making the swing back, soon.

I might take you up on that offer, Noc. But, I don't want to transfer over if you don't play that often. It seems gearing is pretty easy, and I'll have a ton of time to play to do it.

Ok, I'm going to come back and try it out. I'm now just trying to remember what e-mail I merged my account with. I have a few different e-mail addresses, so this is going to take blizzard on the phone.

It doesn't lock your account or something if you attempt multiple times does it? Any reason you can't just go through your e-mail addresses til you get the right one?

Assuming you don't have like...50.

I waited on hold for 45 minutes and got blizzard to tell me. Now, I just need to finish installing these last few patches, and find a new server.

Any suggetions, Moo?

Stalking me and everything, pft. And I play quite often, so you don't have to worry about that. Usually every night, but on the occasion, I won't be on at the later times as we like to go out in the real world sometimes (like on the weekends lol).

It's not all the time though, probably every other weekend if that.

If you want low pop Alterac Mountains is nice, downfall there are elitist people here that base everything on gear score and achievements (probably get that everywhere though).

I switched to human, and went to play with Nocturnal. She begged me in countless e-mails, so I figured I would.

So goes:

"Feyras: Ahhhh"
"Alaxandra: AHHHHH!"

Way to catch me while I'm trying to heal a group and all...

By the way, I should be home within the hour, so more runs!

I've hopped on a couple of times to chat with you, but you're never on. Unless, you're on that warlock that I don't know his name.
