I've got a lot of emblems of triumph.

Which Pieces are better.

Over in Dalaran you can get what I call, "Straight Emblem Gear". In my case this is tank gear... A Paly or Warrior or whatever would be fine in this plate gear. However it's not class specific.

Over at ToC you can purchase the T9 Gear. I'm noticing that I will probably loose a good bit of STA. I'm also not sure about the Tier Bonus.

What are your thoughts?

Also - Still a gear issue...

1. Is Blade Ward worth something like 700G. It seems to sound good.... But wow that's a lot. Would you spend 700G Putting it on RimeFang's Claw. (1H Sword that drops from Final Boss of H.PoS)

2. Is Armsman still considered one of the best tanking enchants on your gloves. Recently someone told me to put the 18 STA (Borean Kit) on them instead. I always thought that was the cheap option and the 2% Threat and 10 Parry is just better...

If you have enough badges buy both untiered and tiered and use them accordingly when the situation presents itself. If your not going to see an upgrade anytime soon go 4 piece T9. The 4 set bonus is pretty strong. If you think you are going to break your 4 set soon go the 2 untiered and 3 tiered pieces.

For progression content the extra stamina is better than the small amount of avoidance and threat generation you get from Armsman. Weapon enchants wont make or break you. Grab Accuracy instead of Blade Ward on the claw unless your hitcapped.

The prot paladin t9 4 set bonus is incredible. That's why i went with 232 tier gear rather than a few 245 vendor pieces.

The 4T9 bonus is terrible except maybe for fights with no specials that need cooldowned. You ordinarily Divine Prot at a specified time (3rd inhale on Festergut, for ex.), not every time it's up. The 2 pc is amazing, though, especially for heroics/trash and other things with adds. I would personally make sure to get the 2pc, then go for whatever gives the most stam.

With regards to weapon enchants, Blade Ward is actually terrible (cf. theorycraft on maintankadin). Blood Draining for some EH for progression-style tanking, or Mongoose for a good threat (almost as much threat as Accuracy)/avoidance hybrid.

I think the 4 peice is more about shaving time off of forebearance so you might be able to get both a Div Prot and a LoH off faster in a tough situation.

I like getting two Divine Protection casts where ordinarily i could only get one in a given fight to tell the MT healer over vent to use divine plea, top up the raid, take a break or whatever. Or when offtanking the big slime on Rotface, you'll want it as often as possible. If you get the injection, you need to eat a hit or two to merge your little slime, you will probably run through the slime pool at some point possibly while being slime sprayed at the same time, etc. It's obviously less useful on fights where you need to save it for a boss ability used less that 90 seconds into the fight.

4PC is neat, but not vital. I didn't blink a single eye when the chest-piece dropped off Deathwhisper. It broke my 4 piece, but gave me some large amount of HP and avoidance.
