I have a question regarding that topic. I was away from wow for about 3 to 4 months. That lead me to fall way behind the dps curve on my guild. From top 5 I went to barely over the tanks on dps, doing around 5 to 6k. My current build/gear is linked on my signature.
The question is, with the gear im wearing right now, would be a good idea to change some pieces with EoT gear? Tonight I`ll get the new tier glove and will be changing gear acordingly, but that will take quite some time for me. So, if EoT gear (head and shoulder) would give me some plus on dps, I would like to know.
I saw the current gear rank on Graylo blog, but it seens, to me, that he is ignoring the bonuses on old tier gear.

ps. I wont get any malfurion item cause my guild still charge for that and Im saving EP/GP (not dkp) to get the weapon from ICC 25.

Go to 4 piece t9 as fast as you can. The set bonuses are much better than your t8 4 set. Plus the stat jump will help.

Yeah, Arex, the problem is, as I said, I dont want to spend EP/GP on those since I want to be able to get the drops from ICC, specially the MH.
I really want to drop that 130hit staff, since I have some better gear with hit on them but I cant use cause the staff has that much hit...The other option I have right now is the MH from ToC5 and OH from Ulduar (cant remember the name, im not home right now to check it out, but its like a chalice or something)
I was thinking if the EoT head/shoulder would add some dps compared to T8 itens while I cant get the T10 itens... T9 is out of the equation, unless I can get in a 10 man ToC group to get the tokens (or whatever the name of that thing is), wich seens unlikely due to my time constraint right now...

You can buy T9 with EoT, lower stats yes, but the set bonus is the same. Either way, T9 EoT is ilevel 245 I believe which is still awesome, so no need to worry about spending EP/GP on that.

Actually the T9 that you get with only badges is ilvl 232. The upgraded trophy versions are the 245. Grind out the badges. You'll want the 4-piece set bonus until you have to break it for T10 or a combination of other ICC level gear.

Oh, and I'm not sure how your ep/gp works. My guild only charges and distributes EPGP in 25-mans. A good alternative for me was to get the 10-man version until I get my hands on the ICC25 one. Or, alternatively, you could always just pug a Toc10 or ony. The daggers that drop from there will be huge upgrades from the toc5 dagger.

Wait, there are EoT-only T9? Thats new for me. I thought I needed the trophy from either 25 or 10 man. Ok, I guess I'm pretty stupid, then. Where's the guy that sells that t9 EoT only? I'm going to buy it tonight!

They are located right in front of ToC and the emblem vendors in dalaran.

The same goes for t10 gear. You have to purchase it with emblems of frost and then the tokens drop from the bosses in ICC to upgrade to the ilvl 264 versions.

I am not sure where in Dalaran the vendors are for the T9 gear besides the ones you need tokens for, but the ones that only need EoT are right outside the ToC raid entrance.

Valiant Laradia for Alliance

and Aspirant Naradiel for Horde

Hope that helps.

Also smart is usually a relative term...so take that how you will =P

Yep, thanks for the help, peeps. Got the T9 Shoulder and Chest, T10 Glove and the friendly-rep-ring. My dps went up quite a bit and I`m only 2 bits below of the hit cap.

Brisin, why do you still have 2/3 intensity?

With your gear and crit you should have almost 0 mana regen problems in any raid as long as you've got a replenishment.

imo, move it into typhoon and 1/2 gale winds.

Having typhoon for clutch knockback for when things get a little dicey is really nice.

Or go 2/2 gale winds since I know ICC actually has some AOE situations.

I see your point and I actually debate it with myself sometimes. But....

I only have it cause I dont really care for trash pulls, so IMO Gale Winds is kinda useless. I dont see me using in any boss fight (at least, the ones I did so far). I guess I could get Typhoon and work it on my rotation, but I saw it somewhere that it would be a marginally increase in dps. Since I live in Brasil and have to play with 300~500ms constant lag, I thought that introducing a instant cast spell in my rotation that have a marginally dps increase would actually turn into a 0 increase or, even, a dps loss.

As you said, I really don`t have any mana issues. At all. But I think I would be change nothing for 0, so I let it there and I sell all my mana pots and give my Innervate to any healer that dies and get rezzed back. That`s all.

Edit for a question: The other day I got a MH from H-PoS. Surgeon`s Needle. The way I see it, it`s a healer MH and my secondary spec is really really glad I got it. But, it has quite a bit more of SP if compared to my current dps MH Spectral Kris. I did some checkings and, if I trade one for another, I get more SP (duh) but I would get below the Haste soft-cap. I could gem for it and get back up, but I dont know if it would be adviseable. What you guys think?

Faster trash pulls means more boss time, hence the reason for gale winds.

Typhoon should never be in a rotation, its just a nice situational spell.

Take the needle. It's better, haste soft cap is negotiable.

I agree. Definitely take the Needle. Even when below soft cap, SP is slightly better than haste I believe. Also, there's a ton of boomkin gear with haste already on it so you shouldn't have a problem finding something to get the haste up when you score some upgrades. Even without the mana regen talents, you should find that you can end a boss fight with plenty of mana and also be able to save your innervate for healers.

Didnt noticed their dps, but I would think their dps while tanking should be around 3 to 4k. But that`s me just guessing here.
What I meant before is I was only above them, so, last on dps. Though I was above some other peeps on Damage Done.

Thanks about the Needle answer. I will give more thought on it. Its just that I feel bad equipping a dagger that has mp5 on it as dpser...urgh.

Seconded Arex... as someone said in a post I can't seem to find now in a forum I don't remember (I'm useless.../sigh)

"Hell I don't care if it's a big pink staff with a ginormous purle heart at the top with bubbly hearts floating out of it and a Hello Kitty on the bottom.... if it's a DPS upgrade I'll take it"

Although that weapon would have to be pretty freakin sweet for me to want to parade around Dalaran looking like... I dont' know what, just really really really wierd.

Yesterday I saw myself with another 50 EoT. I`m torn between the leg or head. I`ll probably buy the head, since it has crit on it too and the leg only has hit, while on T8 the crit is on the leg. Since I`m trying to kinda min/max here, I think its the best choice. What you guys think?

Not sure as I haven't seen your gear, but just an FYI, the T10 pants have the same stat types as the T9 pants, just more of them. If you've got a bunch of minor things with hit, I'd try and get the hit loaded pants and get hitless upgrades to replace the others.

Yeah, I think I logged on my healer equipment yesterday. Its the link to armory on my sig.
But I was talking about changing my T8 helm by a T9 helm or my T8 pant by a T9 pant. They dont have the same stats.

Helm > Leg in t9.

When 2t9 2t8 was the way to go, I used to run with my t8 legs because the stat difference wasnt that noticeable.

hmmm....Rawr says to me that 2T8/2T9 is still better than 4 T9 232 ilvl. Is that so?

Got 4T9 + T10 glove. I think I`ll be wearing it for 2 weeks then change to 2T9 + 2T10, 2T10 being, probably, gloves + pants.
Anyway, Arex (or anybody, really), some questions:

- I saw on EJ that they are re-evaluating the IS glyph, saying Starfall glyph can, actually, add more dps on ICC bosses so far, due to mechanics. I don`t see actual numbers on it, but I`m thinking on giving it a try. What do you think?
- Still on EJ, some ppl are removing Gale Winds and grabbing OF, again due to ICC mechanics. Since I never liked Gale anyway, I`m inclined to change it too.

What are your thoughts on this?
