Cool, lets get together a thread of tips tricks and ideas for the various encounters we face. Going to limit it to ICC and ToC/ToGC for now since thats all anyone really runs. If enough people have Ulduar or ask for Ulduar tips I'll add that too.

Icecrown Citadel 10/25

Trash:
-Cloak off the Debuff from the large Priest adds during Deathwhisper Trash.

Lord Marrowgar:
-Feint Bonestorm if you're close enough.

Lady Deathwhisper:
-If you're mutilate try to be put on the boss, you'll do amazing.

Gunship Battle:
-Running off the edge of the ship will port you back to yours.

Deathbringer Saurfang:
-If you get Mark of the Fallen Champion you can feint the damage done by it, so spamming feint may help alleviate damage.

Festergut:
-Feint Pungent Blight is a nice way to mitigate lots of damage.
-On Heroic, he puts a small green spot on the ground where the malleable goo will land. Don't be standing there.

Rotface:
-You can cloak the Mutated Infection if the heals are late on dispelling.
-Can you cloak the Ooze Explosion for more DPS time? NEEDS TESTING.

Professor Putricide:
-Vanish the tier gas. Make sure you hit vanish during the cast or right after the cast has gone off and you get the entire time for DPSing the boss.

Blood Prince Council:
-If you pull agro on Keseleth(you shouldn't) you can manage to cloak one of his Empowered Shadow Bolts. This shouldn't be needed though.
-On heroic if you need to get somewhere fast you can sprint and cloak the debuff midway, it won't stop further stacks but it will reset it.

Blood-Queen Lanathel:
-Tricks the person who has the first bite for even more crazy damage.
-Timed right you can cloak the entire air phase's Bloodbolt Whirl.

Valithria Dreamwalker:
-Be combat. Seriously, Mutilate is TERRIBLE for this fight.
-FoK + TotT on the worms that spawn from Aboms. Your tanks will love you forever.

Sindragosa:
-You can cloak the debuff you get from attacking the boss. What I tend to do is stack it up to 6 or 7, cloak it, stack it up until Blistering Cold and than let it fall off while running in. DPS as normal til Airphase and when you run to the steps it will have fallen off again.

The Lich King:

Trial of the Grand Crusader 10/25

Northrend Beasts:
-Cloak off the Poison/Fire Debuffs.
-Sprint when Icehowl charges if needed.

Lord Jarraxus:
-If Mutilate, Vanish right before the portal/volcano comes out to get Overkill for extra burst.
-Cloak off the Legion Flame or Incinerating Flesh debuff. Choose which to cloak based on your group. More healers cloak off Legion Flame, Less healing Cloak off Incinertaing Flesh.

Faction Champions:

Twin Val'kyr:
-Cloak the Vortex, not the Touch of X debuff. Healers can heal the Touch debuff much easier than they can the Vortex.

Anub'arak:

Trial of the Crusader 10/25

Northrend Beasts:
-Cloak off the Poison/Fire Debuffs.
-Sprint when Icehowl charges if needed.

Lord Jarraxus:
-Cloak off the Legion Flame or Incinerating Flesh debuff. Choose which to cloak based on your group. More healers cloak off Legion Flame, Less healing Cloak off Incinertaing Flesh.

Faction Champions:

Twin Val'kyr:

Anub'arak:

I'll add stuff in a bit. but feel free to post as well.

I'll start off with some simple things, though I have to say I find it easier to think of tricks like these for other classes than my rogue.. Also, I might steal this idea for the priest forums - nice thread Moo.

Trash:

I am not entirely sure whether you can cloak out of the massive AOE debuff the spider mobs in front of Deathwhisper, but I am pretty certain that you can cloak as soon as you see your name in the target of target bar - it works that way for my DK's anti-magic shell.

it probably goes without saying that rogues have kick for twin pact, after the shield goes down.

What a great idea Moo.

I don't know if these are already well-known, but -

Trash - dismantle the giant guardians, especially if the tank loses it and it turns toward the group, to avoid the cleave.

Marrowgar - everyone stand inside his hitbox (for the casters in your guild, just tell them the red circle under him after they click on him*) and the fire trails won't hit you. But you need at least one person outside the hitbox or it doesn't work - he will spawn them inside the hitbox. Hunters are perfect since they cant stand that close anyway. This also makes it easier for melee to take down bone spikes since everyone is real close.

Deathwhisper - you can blind the adds and dismantle.

Gunship Battle - have fun, best fight in the game in my opinion. Note - the enemy captain gets a stacking buff while in combat, so when you leave the enemy ship take totems with you and when you get back to your ship stay away from the edge closest to the enemy ship.

Deathbringer Saurfang: we haven't downed him yet. The adds are merciless.

*This is no joke, I had to explain it to a mage.

On Anub you can cloak the infectious bite debuff that the chasing bugs give you upon touch. It stacks, so use it when the bug is dead, otherwise the stack will just return. Healers will love you for it. Use sprint to avoid the bugs.

On Marrowgar, you could Feint/Evasion the bonestorm if your healers utterly fail. Haven't been able to see if feint has an effect on the blue flame lines or not but I'm guessing it should?

ICC 10/25 trash, the bone construct things that explode should be feintable. Haven't noticed evasion having an effect but i use it whenever it's up.

Kick the Dark mending of the ICC 10/25 adds before Lord Marrowgar. Haven't checked if you can kick the web wrap.

On Jarraxus i think you can kick his fel fireball, can't remember the correct spelling.

When ICC is reset i'll write down all i do in raid to check if i have it all :D

Professor Putricide:
you can Vanish if the green ooze has you targeted,
(doing this right before he gets to you allows (at least) a few more seconds of DPS on him before he explodes)

Feint works quite well on the bonestorm.

Main issue here is that even if you have feint up, tanks have to manage mobs to where no more than 2 die at one time. If 3 or more die within a second or two, you're gone, even with feint. I spam feint throughout those fights and it's kept me alive more often than the other rogues.

Something else worth mentioning, that's a bit small, but handy. If for some reason you pop two of the giants in the first room or so. Rogues and stealth and distract. This can provide a good amount of time to separate the giant guys to avoid careless wipe in 10 man mode, should your group not be able to handle them both at the same time.

Just something I found handy.

While i do realise that saurfang Jnr shouldnt be getting to heal himself much at all if the raid does it right. Can wound poison reduce his self healing abilities?

The oppurtunity cost of using thet wound poison in one hand is probably greater than the gains obtained by reduced self healing even if it does work though. the raid simply has to get things right.

This may be a given for some, but not everyone...

For the Saurfang fight - only TotT the tank one time. The rest of the time, find the top melee (another rogue for example) and pike it on them instead. I did this with another rogue and we both jumped our dps by about 2k combined for that fight. This in turn helped down Saurfang quicker.

For the Dreamwalker encounter... make sure the AoE skele mobs are in the main raid area before they start blasting their AoE. If ranged or someone hits them outside the main raid area, it will likely cause major issues.

Peace.

Just want to comment on that from a healer POV: note that if you don't get tear gassed you can still get damaged during the transition and nobody will be able to heal you. If you're near dead, avoiding the stun can kill you as the abomination's AOE damage aura is unavoidable (save for CloS, which only lasts a few seconds).

Well, depending on your DPS and the tactic you use it isn't completely uncommon that you enter tear gas on low hit points. We use the "group up on the green slime and nuke him" tactic and our DPS is on such a level that we usually get one explosion before killing it. If you happen to enter the Tear Gas phase within 4 or 5 seconds after that first explosion you might not be healed up yet. Partly because we can't heal you up when flying through the air. Generally it shouldn't be a problem, but it *can* occur.

The most deadly part of ICC for me is the very beginning trash. ; ;

So very beginning trash: when they all get down low on life, GTFO and let the ranged AoE finish it. :P
