Hello Priest community,

Recently I have been levelling my little Priest (59 at the moment) as Shadow (solo) / Disc (instances)
I heard about a level 60 raiding guild on my server, and thought that would be a fun change of the level 80 content on my main.
So, long story short, I joined them, but I found I could not fit in all the talents I wanted into a level 60 spec

here is what I came up with.
Disc: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVhbuhhVRhsfMRt (missing 1 point in Divine Aegis :( )
Shadow: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bZZGxfVofzffqczho (missing 5 points in Twisted Faith :( )

is this any good, or did I miss some mandatory talents..?

At level 60 as disc, I'd be looking at something more like this.

The main problems I see with your build are:
Move points in Silent Resolve to Improved Inner Fire, and have Fade on a hotkey.
You Need Aspiration and Glyph of Penance.

Here are some cookie cutter builds you can look at for discipline.

The cookie-cutter PvE Shadow spec.

If you're having trouble with mana, feel free to move the points from Inner Focus and Improved VE to Focused Mind.

Fish, you fail at numbers ;P

Anyway; I'm thinking that healingwise putting together a good spec for level 60 is a pretty tough job. The problem is that as disc, you NEED Penance but grabbing it means you can't grab Inspiration. If you have someone else providing the 15% armor buff you should be pretty cool though. Holy isn't ever going to work because you can't take Meditation.

You just can't have all the toys at 60. I agree, Penance is a must. As far as Inspiration goes, it's nice to have, and will be more useful at 80 when your crit rate is higher (since it goes off after a crit heal).

Penance however, you can use right now with great effectiveness.

That's just my point, though. Sure, it isn't that critical in the normal 60-man content, but if the OP is really planning on doing stuff like MC and AQ, I do think he'll have a pretty hard time tank healing without Inspiration.

On another note, I've given some thoughts to level 60 shadow specs and here's what I've come up with. This is what I'd try first, a shadow spec built purely for optimal DPS. Once you get some semi-decent gear you should see if you have mana troubles. If you do, try this. If it's still not enough, replace the glyph of Mind Flay with that of Dispersion. If that fails too, you'll have to resign to the fact that you probably won't be able to deal a viable amount of damage due to needing to spec like this to grab Meditation.

yea, about that raiding at level 60 ..

I really liked the idea, but just came across some of the "guild rules" that we have to raid by:
In future raids - No glyphs, No Wotlk or TBC enchants, No socket gears, No Heirlooms. And only 31 in talent tree.

because he wants to keep it the Vanilla way I guess..
but that's just insane and makes it way to hard imo, I mean, with these rules you really have to start gearing people up trough LBRS / UBRS / ZG before they can even start thinking about doing MC / BWL (the 2 instances they want to start with.. :s)

just checked, and with 31 points in a tree I can get Power infusion in Disc (yay...) or Lightwell in Holy (yay...)
and just think about what the tanks will miss..

so in short, I appreciate all the help, but with these rules in place, I doubt I'll be staying in there long ;)

That is just downright stupid. No matter how vanilla you want to play it, you can't deny that some classes have been thoroughly redesigned and a lot (if not all) specs NEED their 41 or 51 pointers to even be able to play the class. How does he expect a paladin to heal without Beacon of Light, Light's Grace and Infusion of Light? Or DPS without Divine Storm and Crusader Strike? A shaman heal without Riptide and Earth Shield? A warlock DPS without Chaos Bolt? This man deserves a facepalm.

He certainly does..,
I'll give it a try in my 51/0/0 spec with full heirlooms.. and when they don't accept that, just turn the XP-gain on again and act all surprised when the "Ding level 61" comes up :p

I think I'd rather come up with something else to do until the expansion, like get Loremaster, or level a character in only a tabard.

Unless it's a group of friends you already know, I wouldn't want to equip myself old style and try to pretend the old world is the same as it used to be.

Thanks for the interesting and important question. Everyone talks about what you do at 80, and frankly that is quite boring by now (I have both an 80 (alliance) and a 60 (horde) priest right now).

Move points in Silent Resolve to Improved Inner Fire is a no brainer.

Yes you need aspiration but what does one give up to get it? Probably two points out of borrowed time.

Loremaster is driving me crazy. I have EveryQuest but it is still a pain to find those last 80 quests in Kalimdor. Eastern Kingdoms should be easy, some zones I haven't even started and I'm only 150 quests away.

But if you really want to kill time before the expansion try for the insane title. That will keep you busy and cause you to go nuts.
