Stolen from MMO-Champion Rogue boards.

Rate the rogue above you's armory(or say who you're rating).

Here is mine: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Argent+Dawn&cn=Lineli
I'll bet gold people comment on my expertise.

Addendum: Also say what you think other's will say is wrong with your Armory.

This rogue has mixed two good looking gear sets together to end up pretty bad looking *Nods*

Doesn't seem to be expertise capped (I guess I have to say something), and raids with a... boomkin or shadow priest? All in all not a lot to say, I reckon, looks solid to me.

I'll leave something to be laughed at, I haven't played my rogue in ages:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Moonglade&cn=Razom

What I think others will say is wrong with my armory? Wrong/no enchants, bad spec, bad trinket, bad gems, bad weapon, and expertise in PvP.

I got to 80 about 3 weeks ago so still pretty fresh 80 rogue. People will probably say better enchants/gems, more expertise?

Trying to decide what it is your specs are for.. if you're going for pvp they're not bad, if it's pve you're after I am mostly boggled.

Doesn't look too bad for fresh 80 gear, but I highly recommend getting into as many heroics as you can as often as you can.. a lot of the triumph/frost pve gear is fantastic even for pvp, and with triumph you can get a full set of decent pvp gear.

The new normal and heroic instances are going to be your best friends over the coming weeks. Run them all as much as possible. Get at least the friendly Ashen Verdict rep ring, it'll take two trash clears to get it so just find someone to carry you through trash (won't be hard).

My armory

I know the gems aren't epic and the main hand is a year old but blargle to you sir! Currently poor and on the constant upgrade train thanks to new content.

Well for ^ the main thing I'd say is work on those gems, i guess. I think that's the standard combat spec. enchanting/engineering is an interesting combo. :P I was engineering, and now I kind of miss it. I really don't feel like leveling it up again though.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Arygos&cn=Rukh&gn=Alt+F+Four

Two things real fast; I actually won the 251 chestpiece from ICC, gemmed it with 3 epic gems, +10 stats, and promptly dropped it. ;( Somehow I managed to switch back to wearing my old breastplate and threw away the new one instead of the old one. Still have a ticket out for it.

Also, I know that attack gems are supposed to be slightly better, but it's a total of like 4 dps difference, so I'm just adding attack ones to near gear and not changing out the old ones. Saving up for epic flying on my new shaman and such.

More expertise on gear/in general, 1 point from Imp Poisons to Vile Poisons, and look for better trinkets, at least better than shard of the Crystal Heart, all good otherwise.

If it has the 232 helm it isn't updated yet.

Grey range weapon O.o

Gems, some are Blue quality. Yellow Sockets should be AP/Haste, Blue sockets should be AP unless you're using the one nightmare tear you need for the meta gem.

Meta should be Relentless Earthseige Diamond(21 AGI 3% Crit Damage).

Also, Dwarves look epic in T9.

Fix glyph for combat.

waiting for better gear before I start putting in epic gems. Just want to be geared enough to get into 25man ToGC and ICC

Just started the combat yesterday so have to tweak stuff.

Well GoM pretty much summed it all up, but just to add some fresh blood into the thread, here are my 2c.

with you being an Engineer, I'm a bit surprised you do not have the Haste on your gloves.
ooh and try to get the Herkuml trinket asap, will fix the Expertise rating and its just an awesome trinket.

Here is mine: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Khadgar&n=Niphredil
What's wrong? : low on Expertise, still a bit high on ArP, no T10 set bonus yet (need 20 more emblems for the head item, don't want the get the shoulders now and have Lady Death drop Cultist's Bloodsoaked Spaulders right after that...) edit: and ofcourse my off hand dagger :(

The rogue above me looks hot on the armory. I'd say about an 8.5, or a 9.

Shivera:

Low Expertise yea, ArP I wouldn't worry about, an upgrade is an upgrade, and OH dagger yea.

I'd get the shoulders because the 2 piece is amazing, and shoulders are one of the 4p T10 you'll want(I think).

If you're close to the head though you may wanna wait. Both are upgrade so its your call.

I'm not rating you GodofMoo!!! You've probably been rated quite a few times already lol

As for me: I know there's a lot I need to work on (switching out gems, replacing some items, etc.)

Lemme see.

The rogue above me seems pretty freaking awesome, and the epitome of a not-often-raiding rogue. I don't see many raid pieces, and none from above Ulduar (I might be missing some?), but 4pt9 is great. Need to upgrade the helmet I believe, and then get into some raids! Wish I could help more, but I know very little about rogue PvE.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sen'jin&cn=Junkboxing

For myself, my rogue is going for PvP. I desperately need new weapons (ilvl 200 daggers suck) and I'm considering going combat maces instead, just so I can buy some ilvl 226 maces. A lot of my gear is "in between" gear. As soon as I have the currency, I plan on buying the WG +hit trinket (that also acts as a medallion of the alliance), using emblems to buy the furious leggings, and honor to buy either a ring, necklace, or back piece. That should take a week or so for all of them.

I also really need to get on an Arena team... ANY arena team! Just to make some points. Also I believe I logged out in my PvE spec, not my PvP one (if it had HfB, it's my PvE spec).

Junkboxing looks to have a good mix of blue and purple for starting out, gems look to be good for PvP, but I am the last person to decide what is good for PvP.

Armory linked in sig, please note that I haven't raided since Naxx25 was cool, but I am knocking out randoms and hopefully will find some time to get into some 10 man PUGs while we grow our guild, which is made up with people we all know IRL.

A few Blue Grade gems, a lil too much expertise(though this isn't necessarily bad), don't need the hit gems since you're over 315 without them, don't need to gem for the socket bonus in chest.
Or if you're going to, put the nightmare tear there and a red gem in the shoulders.
If you're gonna go ArPen either go full ArPen and make sure you're at the softcap with your trinket, or don't gem ArPen and wait til you can hard cap it.
4/5 Improved Poisons 1/3 Vile Poisons>5/5 Improved.
Probably have a smoother rotation with Glyph of SnD instead of TotT, though I'm not sure how it will affect DPS.

LockecoleMA:

<.< I don't know jack **** about PvP so pass on you.
I will say 2/5 Relentless Strikes>2/2 Opportunity for your PvE spec.

AtrophyGFour:

Need more Expertise. Better off switching all the AGI/STA gems for pure AGI or AP. Could stand to have less hit, but that's no really an issue.
Spec is perfect, though I lean to TotT over FoK for Muti glpyhs, but than again, my off spec is Combat PvE.

General Thoughs for all:
If you don't have Dual Spec, it may be worth getting it, depending on your income. An off spec of Combat PvE is great for heroics and select raid bosses. An off spec of PvP is great for getting honor for gems and the like.
In regards to gemming...

I am of the school that you should have 1 Nightmare Tear, and everything else should be red or orange gems, in my case AP or AP/Haste. Technically(with exceptions) this provides the highest DPS. If you're wondering whether to gem for a socket bonus or not take a look at it.

For example, Leggings of the Broken Beast. 1 Red Socket, 1 Blue Socket, +6 AGI Socket Bonus. Two +20AGI gems=+40 AGI on the pants. 1 +20AGI gem and 1 +10AGI/+15STA gem=+36 AGI and +15 STA. So...less DPS there.

However, I will acknowledge that STA may be useful at times. The higher your gear level the more STA on gear. At low gear levels if you are lacking Health and getting killed by AoE a lot than you have two choices.
1. Find out why you're dieing and stop dieing to it(also known as STOP SUCKING).
2. If you can't stop dieing, maybe going for some Blue Socket Bonuses for STA may be worth it. Afterall you can't DPS if you're dead yea?

There are plenty of reasons why you may be dieing, bad tanks, bad healers, bad other players. This can't always be fixed. However, if you gem for STA because you can't stop standing in the lovely warm flickering fire...STOP SUCKING.

Use a nightmare tear for the socket bonus, don't gem for stamina, stack AP.
Stamina bonus does nothing for your dps.
Don't know a lot about Muti, I assume your spec is ok.
The rare gems need to go. Your gear is good enough for epic gems.
To me, the best gems and enchants say you care. Your mileage may vary.
A good upgrade for the rings would be the Ashen Verdict rep rings. Rogues
are in demand for the Rep runs, at least on my server. Even if you aren't
running ICC, you could can get to friendly fairly quickly doing that.
Make sure to bring your flares.

You know, I had read all about how AP was better than Agi so I spent about 900g on new gems and replaced everything for pure AP. I saw a 1500-2000 loss in dps in heroics, so I spent another 900g to go back to Agi. Not sure if its just the fact that I am basing it on heroics rather than raids so my info is skewed but I was back above the 4K mark as soon as I had the Agi back in.

FoK is mostly because I am in Heroics and don't get to raid, so I am constantly spamming it on trash. Tricks is basically there for me to give the tank a good threat buff and let me go all out.

Atrophy... on your dps loss. I understand. Two rogues in my guild spent over $2k to switch back and forth. Personally, I noticed a boost when switching to AP gems.

Here I am:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kirin+Tor&cn=Stillpist

My trinkets are terribad and I know it. I'm not a raider anymore, since my wife is about to have our first kid. Soooo... my ToGC and ICC runs are pretty scarce. The few times I have done them, nothing has dropped, but let's be honest, to get loot, you gotta show up for raids and I just can't raid till 3am anymore.

My 1 question: The first thing I want to get (with frost badges) is the new trinket. I'm thinking that's the single biggest boost I could give myself.

Thoughts?

Aubiece:

Only comment is that 24 crit to boots is not as good as other options(unless its an engineering thing).

AtrophyGFour:

Eh, your mileage will vary and the only way to be 100% sure is with a spreadsheet.

Stillpist:

Nightmare Tear would be better in helm, the one AGI gem should be AP, Greatness is awesome, replace Mirror of Truth with Herkmul's War Totem. You will never not be using the War Totem.

Now, take this with a grain of salt. But, with Stillpist, shouldn't his OH be in his MH? I read that "updated Rogue Compendium" link from EJ, and I could have sworn it said to have the highest dps weapon in your MH.

Is that correct, or did I read that wrong?

Adrianna's 3.3 FAQ wrote:
Q: Fast weapons or slow weapons?
A: You need at least one fast weapon for Deadly Poison. The other can reasonably be either fast or slow - weapon DPS matters far more than speed.

Q: Which dagger goes MH?
A: The higher-DPS one.

Q: What if they're of equal DPS?
A: The short answer is that it doesn't matter very much - both options will be within a tenth of a percent of DPS. Usually it will be better to have the fast weapon MH, but there are situations - the most common one involving use of Tiny Abom - where that may not be the case.

Q: Wait, what? The fast one MH?
A: Yep. Basically, the extra poison procs you gain just barely outweigh the loss of Mutilate damage. See this post for numbers.

Q: So DP sometimes goes on your MH?
A: Yes. DP goes on the fast weapon, whichever hand it's in. If both weapons are the same speed, DP goes on the MH.

edit: After reading what i quoted i armoried myself and see mine are both equal DPS but the unsharpened shard is faster so I am going to move it to MH and see how that works out.
